It took a change of administrations to get the partisan politicking off the whitehouse.gov website. Clinton's rhetoric still exists as an archived federal webpage.

It was not just the boasting of accomplishments, it was the denigrating of the administrations of Ronald Reagan and George Bush.

"All in all, it's a pretty good school district."

I have a different opinion. I have 4 kids who went through the "good" Issaquah school district. They were subjected to indoctrinations by women's libbers, anti-Christians, anti-Americans, anti-military, recruiting them as Democrats, homosexual recruiters, and even Blacks who came in and taught in the classroom as to why sex with Blacks was better than whith whites. One teacher specialized in "penis envy" and managed to work the subject into every class discussion. I used to ship the classroom materials to our state legislators (to no avail) and pass the stuff around nationally.

Three of my kids made it out of Issaquah with their virginity intact (Thank you, Lord), but one daughter succumbed to the daily brainwashing, and we lost her for several years. At age 42, she is still trying to get her life back in order from the damage that began at Issaquah High School. This is nothing new, they have had this kind of teachers there for the last 25 years. We have a lot of messed up kids in the neighborhood, and I have no doubts as to why. They get shipped off for a daily dose of deviant indoctrination, and the parents haven't a clue.

Issaquah has a reputation as a "good" school district, but what it is, is a very wealthy school district, with the best of everything, and the kids all drive new expensive cars, but the beauty is all superficial. It's a toilet inside.

LOL Now now, let's give her a chance to respond. She's probably taking her grocery cart out for a stroll. I'm sure it takes quite a while to collect enough cans for a pack of smokes, especially if she lives in a state with recycling deposits. A book was burned somewhere tonight and we need to put a stop to that!

Like I said in #77, that assessment may be overly generous.

I was schooled on the eastside too. Junior and senior years after schooling in Wichita, Kansas. Wichita schools were tough! Academically and physically. I finished on the eastside and then attended UW where I received a liberal arts education during the Vietnam war. Yes, my education was for the most part, delivered by liberals here in Washington.

Clearly, your experience with Issaquah is not good and I've got horror stories, but put it in perspective. This is what we've got. You can blame it on the Teachers Union. Let's change the laws!!!! We can do something if we run the liberals out of Olympia.

I've had 2 kids through IHS and one to go. They're no worse for the wear. My oldest is through college and a conservative at 22. I credit that to baseball. Still working on my 20 year old daughter who's studying at USC. She's a tough one though, she's studying vocal arts.

I went through Issaquah High, graduating in 1982. I can't recall any liberal indoctrination, but I'm not sure that is because it wasn't there, or it just didn't "take". I don't recall anything like this going on.

I turned out OK - they don't get much more conservative than me around here LOL.

Dear IHS Parents,

Yesterday afternoon IHS was the focus of KVI Talk Radio with John Carlson. Specifically, Mr. Carlson was dealing with the topic of liberalism and was citing the website link created by Social Studies teacher Jeff Berka. While Mr. Calson is entitled to his political perspective, we were concerned about the personal attacks that were directed at Mr. Berka. As we review the situation, these clarifications and concerns surface:

- The purpose of Mr. Berka's website over the past three years has provided additional educational support for students. It provides balanced material in narrative form, course outlines, homework assignments, and test reviews. Mr. Berka endeavors to present this information in an intriguing, creative, and student-friendly format.
- While Mr. Berka subscribes to his own political ideology, he encourages genuine critical thinking in his class.
- Mr. Berka is sensitive and responsive to the objections that others may have to political cartoons or ideological statements. When made aware that some people were offended by a political cartoon on his website, he volunteered to remove it. This was prior to Mr. Carlson's radio broadcast.
- I have personally observed Mr. Berka's classes and fomd that he always endeavors to treat all students with respect and to protect their dignity. His instruction is excellent. It is creative, engaging, and challenging.
- Last year Mr. Berka was the recipient of an excellence in teaching award.
- I applaud the efforts of teachers who create other venues that support and encourage student understanding and learning.
- We acknowledge the political diversity on this campus and in this community. In fact, our staff reflects this wide range of political opinion. Communicated in a responsible, appropriate and sensitive mannner, this political diversity can and has been very healthy for us. This is not coincidental; it is the result of a community committed to working, interacting, and sharing their thinking. This school is not a bastion of any political ideology. It is a school that encourages staff and students to think for themselves.

Thank you for your understanding, commitment to IHS, and your partnership in this educational community!

Sincerely,

Mr. Michael S. Gallagher
Principal

Sounds like we'll need a nationwide campaign of shaming to get that school to stop spreading their ILLEGAL political hatreds. I presume someone in Washington has already alerted the KVI guy?

Well, well, well.

How nice to know that Berka enjoys the King's protection.

I guess we can presume that the principal also enjoys the school board's protection.
