KVI 570 talk show host John Carlson led his 3:00 program today with a topic he researched today. There's a social studies teacher at Issaquah High School who posted offensive propaganda images of the Bush Administration and corporate America.
Turns out the website is integral to this teachers course and required reading for classroom assignments and quizs. The website is also the responsibility of the school district and taxpayer funded.
Carlson's exposure has resulted in the website being cleaned up. All the offensive images are now gone!
Way to go Carlson and KVI 570!

Can you provide a link to the website? I'd like to take a look at the house-cleaning.

These liberal teachers who can not keep their politics from their work place should be rooted out and immediately fired.

...on their website...

Material from a required-reading website is not viewed as opinion from school students. This is similar to being in a textbook it seems to me.

So you don't mind teachers using their position of authority and taxpayer-funded salaries to turn their students into flaming liberals? No problem, huh?

I don't like censorship in any form. I trust Americans to make-up their own minds. If these anti-American idiots want to spew one-sided propaganda on their website, fine. Let them be seen as the reactionary idiots that they are.
What do you mean censorship?
The school was perfectly free to keep putting up an anti-American website. No one's rights were abused here. The school administrators pulled it or the teacher pulled it out of fear of the opinion of the fellow-citizens.
Beyond that, there are still remnants of teachers' conduct codes. They are not allowed to be anti-American and they're not supposed to bring their private politics into the classroom.
In addition, tolerating this might lead to such a teacher discriminating against a student who is pro-military.

Click on European History and start surfing. It appears the everything that was offensive is gone.
They just said on the radio that the teacher himself, removed the images. I'm not sure he really needed to necessarily take the ones down that were in the Propaganda link as they were representative of the subject.

I'm looking for the teacher's name. I'll post it later, if I find it. I'm also looking for the teacher's phone number and email address. BTW, the web site is now shut down -- you can't see the contents if you wanted to.

The problem, though, is that his website is paid for by public money, and is required as part of his high school course.
He has a right to his opinions, and the expression thereof, but NOT when we are paying for it.
CPB is bad enough.
