"To hell with this. Was 09/11/01 justified?"

Are you saying that the people of Iraq were behind the 911 attack on America?

I'm not attacking him, what I'm saying is that I don't believe he even made the statement.

The Pope is a nice, holy, old man.

Unfortunately, he is completely without the daily flow of tactical and strategic intellegence flowing from military, civilian, and professional sources to the people we have elected to protect us from being murdered.

Children in the local kindergarden would be just as able as the Pope to make such a decision.

The "turn the other cheek idea in this world is a friviolity.

That's a valid question, but I would point out that when the Vatican stands up and opposes a host of depraved, nihilistic radical feminist and population-control measures in the United Nations, it usually finds itself on the same side as these Islamic nations. And on the other side of the table is a group of ugly, bitter, Satanic screeching banshees from the United States and western Europe.

Along those lines sometimes I wonder if the USA is worth SAVING

Any country that doesn't drive Hillary and Bill from power and into jail and that gives Gore the popular vote sure doesn't seem like there is much left to SAVE

At 66 years of age I don't envy those decent younger people's future

"The words of an old man (Pope Pius VII) will not make the arms drop from the hands of my soldiers."-Napoleon.

This actually happened (soldiers dropped their weapons) in Napoleons Russian campaign, due to the intense cold.

"The Pope? How many divisions does he have."-Joseph Stalin

Enough to topple communism.

It's not nice to mess with the Pope.

Bet you can guess which way I voted.

The "people" of Iraq? Probably not. They didn't choose to be born and live there. That they are kept in the stone age is not entirely their fault.
Nutjob radical Muslims are the same malicious, murderous nutjobs, no matter what country they call home.

I'm sure he means well. I wouldn't say anything bad about him, especially on Ash Wednesday. However, I do curse Wolf Blitzers mustache.

CNN polls are rigged!

Yep. I've been to at least 2 dozen of them in the past year and a half. If you vote, the opposite answer gets two or three more.....or your vote never changes the results. It's a worthless effort.

First the President catches hell for fostering too much religion. Now he's not religious enough. I think he is on track, we can't let a devil run loose forever.

Unfortunately, you're correct...I was visiting my daughter this last "Alleluyah Sunday" and her priest (Episcopal) did his entire sermon on how much he was ready for Lent because the coming war gave him such forboding nightmares ...

Is stopping a rape in progress morally justified?
If the rapist is big and bad and has a gun how are you gonna do it?

Everyone knows that anything "from the Pope" is a total joke. His brain is oatmeal and has been for at least the last three years. Someone writes a proc. for him to sign and he signs it as if it were a dinner check. I must admit, it amuses me how much weight it is given in the media.

You know, quite a few very sickening people say similar things about President Ronald Reagan. You may disagree with what the Pope is saying but your comments about his mental capacity are juvenile, IMO.

My personal opinion is that the Holy Father believes that by adopting this stance he can safeguard the lives of thousands of Chaldean Christians who might otherwise be slaughtered if Saddam feels the need to prove his Islamist credentials, but that is my own opinion.

I share your personal opinion about the Pope's motives for sending an envoy as well as your other comments. Thank you for posting a voice of reason.
