[history]
NEW YORK -- Steve Winfield is a listed member of the Screen Actors Guild and, according to the owner of the "Fabulous Voices" Web site on which he once appeared, a translator with a particular flair for foreign accents.
Last week, for 17 million TV viewers, he was also the voice of Saddam Hussein during Dan Rather's exclusive CBS News interview of the Iraqi leader. Apparently putting on an Arabic accent, Winfield -- who spoke with a seemingly everyday North American accent when he talked briefly to a reporter this week -- read Hussein's answers to Rather's questions.

Exactly!
That photo looks like one of his doubles and not Soddomite.
There have been replies and threads on FR for months that Soddomite has not been really seen for years.
What if this clymer died or was killed in a coup? Then his underlyings "kept" him alive to keep a strangle hold on Iraq and the money?

Am I right that all that happened is that the guy who was gonna read the translation in English anyway added an accent? Is that such a big deal? They didn't "dub" Saddam's own voice, did they?

Seriously, Big Dan thoughtit would fool everyone, but he was clean from the thighs up, no sweat, no vine rips on the shirt, no helmet hair, he didn't smell, plus the German girl told everyone, too.
We let it leak that we had film of then entire incident (of course, we did not, darn it.) That kept the story afloat for another 3 days!

Dan cannot fool the wise audience, but this last deception sure seals Rather for the lake of fire, liars can't win in this season or the one to come. Is there a way to make it known to the media that discerning citizens are no longer watching their fairy tale reports? We should have a massive show of media repudiation.

At least you have some good memories of 'Nam. I wonder if Drather and AlGore (aka "Sargeant Fury") ever got together over there to swap war stories -- journalist to "journalist," you know....

Maybe it was Matt Stone from South Park doing the voice of Saddam. "Hey relax guy." ;)

My late Dad was a PIO in Nam in '69. One day he brought some articles and photos in to a bureau chief. The chief said, "Hi Jack! What's the body count today?" My Dad said he didn't know.
The chief then asked, "Do you have any articles about US commanders screwing up and getting their units blown away?" My Dad said he didn't, but he had some great articles about National Guard and Reserve troops helping the local villagers by digging wells, building clinics and schools on their own time.
The chief then asked, "Jack, do you have any pictures of bodies hanging on barbed wire?" Dad said he had pictures to go along with the articles.
The chief looked at the pictures, skimmed the articles and said, "Damnit, Jack! I can't use any of this shit!" At that point my Dad said, "You know, I think you are a communist!" To that, the chief responded, "Well, Jack, you may be right, but as long as I am bureau chief here, the American public is only going to see this war the way I want them to see it!"
With that, my Dad turned around and walked out of Dan Rather's office!

How can you tell?...... This is where the "don't ask, don't tell" policy comes in handy.

>>Next, they will be telling us that was not really the real Saddam, but Saddam #1,#2,#3,#4,or #5.
Did they get DNA evidence? How can we be sure. ;)<<
Actually, in all seriousness, wacko-leftist web-sites, mostly in the UK, allege that Saddam is not Saddam, but likely one of his doubles, as the real Saddam died many years ago. I'm not kidding. CASI (Campaign Against Sanctions on Iraq) has posted serious statments to this effect.
Leftist nut-burgers always kill a good joke.
