SAN DIEGO DETECTIVE AIDS IN LACI PETERSON CASE

(03-04-2003) - A private investigator from San Diego made an unusual discovery in Northern California that just might help police in their search for missing Modesto woman, Laci Peterson.

Bill Garcia spotted a chunk of cement by a waterway near Modesto.

“It was interesting because it was the only patch of cement we saw in about 20, 30 miles stretch. And there was a tire track through it,” said Garcia.

Last week, the couple who sold a boat to Laci's husband Scott, said cement residue in the boat wasn't there when they owned it.

Regardless of who might be responsible, Garcia, along with the help of a private field engineer, have made it their mission to find Laci, with no guidance from Modesto Police of Laci’s family.

“Her family needs to know what happened,” said Garcia. “Whether she’s out there and someone’s holding her or whether she’s no longer with us, and we bring her home, or we help in bringing her home.”

Recently, Garcia helped in the search for Danielle van Dam, and also tracked down Phillip Salcedo, the armored car driver accused of stealing money in January.

Everyone on this forum?

It might interest you to know that you are the only one who has made a habit of attacking me.

It might also interest you to know that all of the FReepmail I receive about the Peterson threads is positive.

It might also interest you to know that in all of my other posts in other non-Peterson related threads I have never been attacked.

Now......who has the problem?

RB, your suggestion about highway 132 makes perfect sense. This would, IMO be the selected route west from Modesto from both the Peterson residence and the warehouse versus driving up to the 120 Manteca by-pass.

Would this include Crows Landing Rd. by chance?

Gulp. Under the circumstances, I knew that was not an appropriate response. Nice to meet you, jdontom.

Why does everyone on this forum walk around with chips on their shouders?

Are those your words or not?

Pretty curioius statement coming from someone who gets as much fan mail as you claim you do. I suppose I could put up the definition of "attack" but that would be childish. I merely answered the question that you posed to me. I am not attacking you, you must be confused by other posts.

I know it's a small point, but if the first search was on 12/27, and according to Scott, the mop was last used by Laci on the morning of 12/24, then I guess we needn't wonder why the police were suspicious about a wet mop--which is what they reportedly found.

I do remember earlier that some posters said, oh, the mop could still have been wet from Laci's (alleged) use of it on 12/24--or from the maid's documented use of it on 12/23.

Well, not likely after three days to dry.

You're really reaching now. You're just too chilish for anyone to reason with you. It is unfortunate.

Oh, I think they do. They can get bank records, they can get credit card records, they can go through his entire computer, as well as Laci's, they have tested substances in the house, they have, I'm sure, looked carefully at carpets and pillows at the house, they can look for the clothes Laci's sister saw her wearing on the evening of 12/23, they can look at the treads of all his tires, they can test the boat for what sort of water it's been in, they can interview friends and Scott's girlfriend(s), they can look into the plumbing at the house and warehouse. They can look for the nightgown Laci supposedly wore the night of 12/23. They can ask neighbors if they heard arguing. They could, if they wanted to, have taken every bit of trash Scott's put out since they first became aware that Laci was missing. They don't even need a warrant to take trash if it's out at the curb, or if the garbagemen are putting it in their truck.

They can do all these things and more. They appear to have done most of them. So why haven't they come out publicly and said they are no longer interested in Scott? They have already said that they exclude Amber Frey as a suspect. She had motive, too. What's taking so long about Scott?

The search warrant was actually served on 12/26/02. I was looking at the published date of the Modbee article. So we are actually looking at 2 days there.

As far as the mop is concerned we don't know if Scott use the mop on the 25th and/or the 26th before LE arrived at 7:45 p.m. We don't know what texture the mop is, whether it was totally wrung out and what the tempature inside the house was. So whether the mop was wet or dry we cannot determine. But if there was blood on it, the way its going for SP, there will be some blood residue.

Who put a quarter in you?

Now stop warning the new posters about me! You know I can't stand it when you do that!

I'm glad you're back--and hang in there. Would you like some prayers? We got plenty!

In spite of what that guy did, I'm glad he survived. I just think it would have been so terrible for his kids if he'd died. Even a lousy parent is still usually loved by children.

Welcome to Freerepublic!

Pay no attention to landerwy. He has just returned and he's still a little hyper. He even had the nerve to mention Richard Ricci on this thread!

You'll find him to be a very nice person.

Hi, trussell! Good to see you!

Let's see if we can solve this one. Um, suspects...suspects...who could be the suspects? Oh--I know! Maybe... maybe... the husband?

She's a nice person, though. And did you know her hobby is vacuuming?

"Bill Garcia spotted a chunk of cement by a waterway near Modesto"

Actually, that would be "concrete", not cement. Cement is the binder for concrete and not the final product. Sorry--pet peeve of mine! It's late...I may be cranky or something. Nite all--

Hope all is going well for you!!
