[history]
As an A-list celebrity, actor Vince Vaughn employs an array of weapons to cope with hecklers, from a Saharan wit to a waiting limo.
But during a movie shoot recently in England, Vaughn found himself repeatedly reaching for the same comeback. Three totemic words from the attic of history: the Marshall Plan.

Dogs will bark.
My advice: See the U.S.A. and spend your travel dollars here.

Hubby and I have also decided to confine our travel plans and "evil American dollars" to the U.S.A.
The foreigners may dislike Americans but they sure love our money, now don't they?

In fact, our first destination for the year is Wrightsville Beach, NC--can't wait and will look forward to putting some money in the hands of the local AMERICAN merchants.

Same here friend..as I was saying, we are heading to Wrightsville Beach when my mom returns to the states and then we plan on going to Florida, Maryland and Mass(to visit relatives), and finally Arizona this year too. The only place we may travel out of the states is to the islands off of florida(not the big communist one;-). The Caribbean has always been particularly receptive to Americans. Never had any problems there. If it's changed in the last few years, please let me know know.

anti American sentiment, and I am sad to note that there is not a lot of opposition to this, particularly on Cdn. sites. Check this out and get in there and give them hell
http://discuss.50plus.com/ubb/Forum46/HTML/000810.html
there are only a couple of people pro American.
There are other threads, but all with the same anti American theme. The Bush beating in here is definitely worth the time for you guys to get in there and oppose them.
We need more people to reply and go after the lefties.
thanks

I'm with you. I have spent a great deal of time in Eastern Europe and have enjoyed every country I have visited. Like you said, travelling to Poland, Czechoslovakia and Hungary to name a few spots are incredibly economical options. You will be welcomed with open arms. As far as the sights go, Warsaw, Prague, Krakow and Budapest boast some of the mostincredible churches, museums and historical sights in all of Europe. If you want to go skiing but want to forget about the Alps, try the Tatra Mountains. For example
http://www.tanap.sk/skiing/hrebienok.jpg - Great slopes for half the price. Zakopane in Poland or Resort Hrebienok in Slovakia are great choices.

You have to keep things in perspective and listen," he says. "At its best, travel remains a vital force in promoting understanding." "Listen" my arse. Remind me not to book a tour with this clown.

Just looked--it's not worth my time to subscribe there and deal with such irrational people. It is obvious that in certain parts of the world, they have had the equivalent of very liberal democrats in office for so long and spoon feeding them such propaganda, that they can not even see the truth if it is right in front of them. I hate to say this, but in some areas of the world right now it will be a WWII all over again. Until the "Nazis" are right at their capitals will they respect the US again. It's disturbing to know that their elders did not impart the lessons of WWII to them--we shouldn't be going through this with Europe again so "soon". All I know reading and hearing of this hatred, is that I have to protect my own. I support our president and his efforts to stamp out terrorism and I will not take my family out of the borders of this country as long as Europeans, Canadians, and all continue their campaign of hatred against Americans.

You are so right, excellent analogy, if we picked on MidEasterners... but USA is much more civilized than Europe, plus we would be charged with HATE crimes here in US if we did that. Great point!
The first couple of times we went to Europe, everyone was so nice. In 2000 I actually had a German woman complain to me about the allied bombing of Dresden Meissen area. I thought silently to myself, my Uncle Richard lost his life freeing these people!

And Clinton went over there and got Milosevich. Someone should have put the Clintons in jail. He still dreams of being head of the UN while she is president of the USA. Scary thought!

I visited Leipzip, in formerly East Germany, in 2000. The anti-American sentiment was very strong. My tour guide lamented that under Communism at least everyone got to go to the opera FREE and now many people can't afford to go. SHEESH! I had to force myself to keep my big mouth shut.
God Bless Uncle Richard Thoos, USAF, B17, downed, 1944, never found.

As usual, the bigoted haters are just digging their own graves. Their countries need our tourism dollars, and as word of anti-American harassment spreads, the more Americans will just stay at home. We don't give a damn either way, but a lot of them will be out of jobs. And that will make me very happy.

Just pretend to be a Canadian and tell them how much Canadians love America. Confuses them good.

I was all over Singapore a few weeks ago and got no negative attitude from anyone. (Of course, anyone'd be a fool to mess with me :))
I'll be in Beijing in a few weeks. Wonder what it'll be like there.
