"Today, December 13, 2002, is the four-month anniversary of this much-watched wager from Black IX."Well, today marks the 7 month anniversary of the consummation of the wager. It also marks the three week anniversary of Mudboy Slim's concession.

Love the guy to pieces.
FYI: Charlie got his "big" break (in the music business) playing fiddle for The Marshall Tucker Band.
Interesting bit of trivia, no?
Just don't buy his videos as they're simply *awful*.
...blechhhh!

I saw Charlie Daniels play in Eugene, Oregon, (of all the socialist places in the world!) I didn't know that he was in MTB.
Yup, Waylen Jennings and Charlie Daniels were in concert together. CD closed it out with "Devil Went Down To Georgia". That was waaay back in the last century...77, or 78...I think. "DWDTG" was on the top of the charts.
And yes, I think he could win a fiddle contest w/lucifer.

"I didn't know that he was in MTB."Not *with* MTB, my friend; played on songs IN the MTB.
Whenever you hear a fiddle on a MTB song, it's Charlie Daniels.
IF you look at the dates of those MTB songs, you'd see they preceed CD's making it on his own with his own recordings.
OK?
"Yup, Waylen Jennings and Charlie Daniels were in concert together."
Ohmygawd I'd give my right eye to have seen those two -- live -- together.
That's a 24k memory maker, as I'm certain you well know.
One other thing I'd like to clear up.
Charlie Daniels' taped concerts are *EXCELLENT*.
I was mistaken so please disregard what I'd said about that, OK?
It was Waylon Jennings I meant to warn against folks wasting their money on; &, was reminded of my gaff when you mentioned his name.
...WJennings' videos are nearly unwatchable.

Subject:
SEVERE EARTHQUAKE IN FRANCE March 13, 2003. Today it was reported that severe earthquakes have occurred in 10 different locations in France. The severity was measured in excess of 10 on the Richter Scale. The cause was the 56,681 dead American soldiers buried in French soil rolling over in their graves. According to the American Battle Monuments Commission there are 26,255 Yankees dead from World War I buried in 4 cemeteries in France. There are 30,426 American dead from World War II buried in 6 cemeteries in France. These 56,681 brave American heroes died in their youth to liberate a country which is guilty of shameful unspeakable behavior in the 21st century. May the United States of America never forget their sacrifice as we find ways to forcefully deal with the Godforsaken unappreciative, forgetful country of France!
PASS THIS AROUND! Maybe it will get to someone in France!!!"
Just received this via email...'nuff to piss any American off, IMHO...MUD

"Marine's Hymn"
From the Halls of Montezuma,
To the shores of Tripoli,
We fight our country's battles
In the air, on land and sea.
First to fight for right and freedom,
and to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title of UNITED STATES MARINE.
Our flag's unfurled to every breeze
From dawn to setting sun.
We have fought in every clime and place
Where we could take a gun.
In the snow of far off northern lands
and in sunny tropic scenes,
You will find us always on the job,
THE UNITED STATES MARINES.
Here's health to you and to our Corps
Which we are proud to serve.
In many a strife we've fought for life
And never lost our nerve.
If the Army and the Navy
Ever look on Heaven's scenes,
They will find the streets are guarded by
UNITED STATES MARINES
HOOOYYYYAAAAHHHH!!!!!

From "We Were Soldiers!!"
Lt. Col. Hal Moore...
"Look around you...
In the 7th Cavalry, we've got a Captain from Ukraine...another's from Puerto Rico. We've got Japanese, Chinese, Blacks, Hispanics....Cherokee Indians!!...Jews, Gentiles...ALL AMERICANS!!
Now, here in the States, some men--in this unit--may experience discrimination becuz of Race...or Creed...fer you and me now, ALL THAT IS GONE!!!
We're moving into the Valley of the Shadow of Death!!...where you will watch the back of the man next to yers...as he will watch yers...and you won't care what color he is or by what name he calls, "GOD"!!
They say we're leaving home...
We're going to what home was always supposed to be!! We are going into battle with a tough, determined ENEMY!! I can't promise you that I will bring you all home alive...BUT THIS, I WILL SWEAR...
Before you and whoever you call "God", when we go into battle, I will be the FIRST to step on the field...and I will be the LAST to leave the field!! And I will Leave No Man Behind!!...Dead or Alive...We Will All Come Home Together!!
So Help Me"...MUD
