What U.S.S.R.? It's a joke. He is referring to the Liberals wish for an actual working(thriving,high standard of living, etc..) Solialist/Communist country to point to and say, "Look at how great they are doing, lets try that". And to the fact that the Libs hate Reagan for bringing down the Soviet Union.

Thanks for posting this. I've been reading Common Conservative for a couple of years now. You only publish twice a month and I forget to check the articles in the middle of the month but I always read the ones posted on the first.

"If you're so gung-ho for the war, why don't you volunteer with the army?" ---> If you're so gung-ho against it, why don't you volunteer to be a human shield in Iraq?
