Bob Graham needs special attention. He's ducking the issue because his Florida constituents are pro-Miguel. Don't let his aids try that "poor health" excuse - that became null and void the minute Graham filed for a Presidential run.

Bush Standing Firm on Estrada; Senate Filibuster Goes 'Round the Clock', GOPUSA, Feb. 27:
The Latino Coalition and other groups have launched media campaigns in areas with large Hispanic populations and a Democrat Senator. Already, four Democrats have come out in support of the Estrada nomination.
In comments to GOPUSA News, Latino Coalition President Robert de Posada said, "Landrieu [D-LA] will be aggressively targeted as will both Arkansas Senators [Lincoln and Pryor]."
When asked about Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton's (D-NY) opposition, de Posada said, "She is practicing partisan politics and will be called on to account for that."
Bullsh*t.
If all Vermonters had your attitude it would be a lost cause.
A lot of us choose to continue to seek change for the better.
In case you hadn't noticed, we now have a Governor and Lt. Gov who are Republican.
Pingy!
Senate Dems: Filibusters No Longer Just For The Floor, By John Nowacki, Director of Legal Policy at the Free Congress Foundation, Feb. 28, '03. Great recap of Sen. Hatch's forcing the three qualified nominees out of committee on Thursday. Add Russ Feingold, Durbin, and Biden to the Rat list.
Coalition for a Fair and Independent Judiciary Launches TV Ad Campaign on Estrada Nomination , far left activist groups treated as mainstream on US Newswire, PFAW, NARAL, etc..
Grrrrr
E-mail US Newswire ('Medialink Worldwide'): info@usnewswire.com
I used to live in Stowe and this is great news. However, why are there only NINE (9) FReepers from the Green Mountain State? Get busy Vermonteers!
Here's the detailed de-bunking of Pfaw's latest dishonest media campaign: Truth a Frequent Casualty in People for the American Way Memo on Estrada Nomination
Send it to: info@usnewswire.com
Thank you (and Hugh!).
*Not to be confused with the Coalition for a Fair Judiciary - they support Miguel Estrada.
Why weren't you a Freeper in VT?
How come you're bragging on W.VA's 52 members (out of 1.8 million pop.) when you've only been a Freeper for a month?
2) I think Xthe17th is seeking to encourage Vermonters, not bash us for lack of numbers or activism.
I have seen a handful of FReepers who post that they are from Vermont but for whatever reason have not put our state's flag on their FR homepages. I thought of keeping a list of their monikers but decided that without their consent to be known and pinged that would go against my personal beliefs. I *choose* to be accountable and active, love to be included in calls to action, and strive to make a difference wherever I can; not every Vermonter of Conservative stripe chooses so. Participation can not be forced, but ought always to be encouraged.
There are, IMHO, too many Vermonters who are concerned about politics in our state but don't seem to want to get involved. I pray earnestly that we can muster our troops as well as the District of Columbia, California, Colorado, and other states have for activism. We could do a great deal more than we are doing now.
I listen to three local stations regularly - 1450am, 1240am, and 89.9fm - and I haven't heard the ad once. The ad would be better run on stations that ordinarily play background or new age-type music, so that those regular listeners, who choose ignorance of the news, hear there what otherwise they would never be exposed to.
An aside:
I have, however, heard an ad many times by a Liberal PAC propagandizing for a measure to add "instant runoff voting" to our electoral process. It is a gobbledegook infomercial all about "Democracy" and "the rule of the majority." I would so love to run a counter ad explaining in simple language the fact that Vermont is a Constitutional Republic, not a Democacy, and this is why we do not have nor ever should have "instant runoff voting." The system as is involves a legislative vote to decide elections in which no outright majority is given to one candidate and works much like the national Electoral College. Our system is not broken. When a plurality occurs in our elections for Gov., Lt. Gov., or (I believe) State Treas., the Legislature votes by 'secret' ballot. This year such a plurality occurred in both the race for Gov. and Lt. Gov.; the election was thrown to the Legislature who elected the top vote-getters, Republicans Jim Douglas and Brian Dubie, both having acheived shy of 51% of the popular vote on Nov. 5. The will of the people was enforced. The Democrats hope that with an "instant runoff" they can usurp the will of the voters by holding a second election to 1) get fewer Vermonters to vote - most folks can barely muster the strength to get to the polling booth once, much less twice, and activists alone are sure to sway a second election; and 2) eliminate the third party candidate/third runner-up (in Vermont this most often being the Progressive candidate), and transfer those votes to their guy or gal.
Great idea, though, this public "shaming".
Republicans are working hard at getting the news out...with little assistance from the mainstream media.
I agree on both points, and the two are interrelated. We can not get the information about the Democrats' obstructionism to the average Vermonter through the formerly free press. We are learning how to petition and bypass the Big Leftist Media and we are making great strides in informing the public through radio and the internet.
I believe television would be a logical and profitable next venture, and the cheapest way to get there is through activism that is reported as news. We need to make a public ruckus!
PS: my family lived in Stowe back in the 70s. There's a restaurant on Rt. 100 as it turns towards Morristown called, I believe now, "Foxfire"? Well, back in the early 70s it was called "Smugglers Inn" and my family owned it with another family. This was before VT had a summer industry with mountain biking and the like, so we relied on a strong ski season to survive. Well, one season, we didn't so I ended-up in the Blue Ridge instead of the Green mountains. Gotta love that mud season though!
