Operation Infinite Freep, Support our Troops Rally in Fresno, CA (2-28-03)

Tonight, fourteen FReepers and patriots opposed the peaceniks who show up weekly to give aid and comfort to Saddam. Those who were able to attend tonight were:

As usual, we had a great time stirring up feelings of patriotism among those driving by. The response was terrific! We listened to patriotic tunes for a while and then Saundra Duffy and Stuart Weil took turns using the bullhorn to make sure the other side didn't enjoy themselves too much. They yelled such things as "Hey hey, ho ho, Saddam Hussein has got to go!" and "Democracy Yes, Fascism NO! Support the liberation of Iraq!"

The peaceniks used a new tactic tonight to get attention. A couple of them brought their drums and sat in a circle on the sidewalk, banging on them hippie style.

After the Freep, we went to Lyons for dinner and lively conversation.

A big thanks to those who were able to make it tonight. To our regulars who weren't able to attend, we missed you and hope to see you soon!

I'm really surprised it took the peaceniks THAT long to finally do a drum circle in all those protests they've done at your location. You'd think they done that much earlier.

There's a possibility I might be there next week.

Tonight's rally was a lot of fun even tho we had to cross a wet and/or muddy former sidewalk. Sure hope we get Freeper Island and Patriot's corner back soon.

A great time was had by all except the Pro-Terrorists standing on the S.E. corner of Shaw and Blackstone last night.
Last night was a night of dead batteries ...... firt the ones in mtngrl's camera went and shortly thereafter, the ones is Sheila's CD player left.
The weather was cool but not unpleasant. We had a few clouds but no rain is expected until the middle of next week, so looks like we will be walking through wet sand and mud again. As you can see by the pictures, they took away some of our parking lot, all of Patriots Corner and all of Freeper Island. Maybe the city will make some improvements before returning it to us. We may have to start protesting and demand our property rights. Do squatters have property rights? LOL Hey .... they did give us the right lane.
