Two pit bulls terrorize a Laguna Niguel neighborhood, killing an extremely rare purebred dog and chasing after resident. One man fearing for his life took out a gun and shot the dogs.
Joseph Perrigoue grabbed his gun when he heard the screams of his wife, Vanessa, as the pit bull and pit bull mix attacked the couple's dog about 6:30 a.m.
The dogs began ripping into the rare six-toed Norwegian lundehund while it was on a walk outside the Hidden Hills apartment complex at 30041 Tessier St., Orange County sheriff's Sgt. Lloyd Downing said.
Both the owner of the dogs, who was not home, and the Perrigoues live in the complex, Downing said.
"She was walking the dog and apparently two pit bulls came through an apartment window screen," Downing said. "The window had been left open."
The woman screamed and she tried to shield her dog, but it was disemboweled, Downing said.
According to Jim Amormino of the sheriff's department, there were only about 20 of the small-to-medium sized lundehunds in the United States.
Perrigoue heard his wife's screams and looked out of his window, Amormino said.
"He sees his wife laying down, thinks she's hurt and gets his gun," Amormino added.
Outside, he sees his wife in a pool of blood and believes it is hers, Downing said, but "she was covering up her dog who was mortally injured."
Perrigoue followed a trail, heard the dogs barking, saw them jump in the window, then went to contact their owner, Downing said.
But as he stood at the door, the dogs jumped out the window again and attacked him, Downing said.
"He made several attempts to ward off the attack with his legs, to no avail," Amormino said.
"The dogs kept attacking him," Amormino said. "He was in fear of his life. He did fire three rounds from his .45-caliber (gun), striking both dogs."
The pit bull died and the other was taken by animal control officers. That dog is expected to be euthanized, Amormino said.
"It appears (the shooting was) justified," Amormino said. "He was getting attacked by two pit bulls. He was making every attempt to ward the attack off."

Here you go.
The Lundehund, also known as the Puffin Dog and the Norwegian Lundehund, is native to Norway, and is believed to be a very ancient breed. The breed is believed to have developed certain unique characteristics so it would be better suited for locating the native Puffin nests, its original purpose. These characteristics include: extra toes, a double-jointed neck, and extremely flexible forelegs. The Lundehund is a rectangular, small, comparatively light, spitz-type dog, with distinct secondary sex characteristics. It is alert, energetic, and lively of temperament.

Now replace everything between the quotation marks with your picture address (and DO NOT delete the quotation marks!). You cannot upload directly to FR from your computer therefore you have to upload to apicture server and then link to it. Got it?
Sarcasm.....

Thought the dogs were attacking his wife....sure he did.
I used to have respect for the cop on the beat back when they actually served and protected, now all they do is drive around shooting people and dogs.
Tyrants.
