Pro-US Rally By Korean-Americans to Be Held in Washington March 1st
by Joo Yong-joong (midway@chosun.com)
Korean-American organizations in Washington DC will hold a demonstration against anti-United States sentiment in S. Korea in front of the White House on March 1, while mass gatherings will be held in Seoul opposing the withdrawal of the US Forces Korea. The demonstration in Washington, organized by the Asia Pacific Human Rights Conference and sponsored by Maryland Korean Church Council, will also demand democratization in North Korea and measures to be taken for North Korean refugees.
The organizing committee said Tuesday that the security of South Korea is threatened, explaining that under the good name of the "Sunshine Policy" (toward the North), the S. Korean government is merely probing Kim Jong Il's motives, while the Korean people are pushing the USFK to withdraw. The demonstration will aim to deliver the Korean-Americans' opinion to the US Congress, government, and all human rights organizations.
According to a declaration, Kim Jong Il's "despotic feudalism and development of nuclear weapons" have become the center of international condemnation, and caused more than three million deaths due to starvation. Furthermore, it pointed out that both South Korea and North Korea are going through difficulties internationally.

They may not sing exactly from the same sheet in terms of War with Iraq (although I am sure many do) but nevertheless on North Korea they are in our corner and will be heavily pro-US. They can field a LOT of Korean American Christians in the D.C. area with American flags I am sure. Any plans to join forces so an even larger turnout occurs on Saturday?
Why not look at some 'strategic alliance' in this regard. The more the merrier.
Socialist libs have their 'coalitions' under a 'united front' all the time even though individual groups may have some policy differences.
The many strongly pro-US Vietnamese and Cambodian groups in the D.C. area should also be activated, if possible. Just some thoughts. (If they need more people over there.)

Because time is of the essence (something like 48 hours or so to the D.C. pro-America rallies), maybe we can appeal to the Moderators to bump it into "Breaking". I originally put it under "Announcement" since the title and some specifics had my editorializing. Good idea.

Why don't we see any ARAB-AMERICANS doing this? Is it because Arab Americans want to see the US turned into a western version of Saudi Arabia? Is it because the terrorists embedded in Arab American enclaves in the US hold the rest of the community captive?
Until I see Arab Americans holding pro-America rallies like these Korean Americans, I will continue to be very skeptical about the real commitment of Arab Americans to America.

Hmmm... I've pinged the Warlord and the Ringleader.
Any idea of how we might contact any of the Korean-American groups?

Any idea of how we might contact any of the Korean-American groups? I talked to these guys in Korea, who are organising this protest. They would like if we send some PDF material that they can print out and take to the protest. Please post them here, so I can send them the thread :)

Be a little more specific. There are CHRISTIAN Arabs in the U.S. too, who have been victimized by the Muslims in their homelands, so they came here to live and worship freely.

I did the same thing and came up empty, too. Maybe I'll stop at the G & H in the morning and ask the owner if he knows about it...
Hmmm, also a couple of residents whose family came here from Korea. I can ask them, too.
Waitaminute! I dropped some "Rally I" flyers at the Korean market in Wheaton last year. The manager was very positive then, if I can find the time I can go up there again tomorrow. Oooops, I'm leafleting with you, JVb, FTH, and others tomorrow. Time! I need more time! (I feel like that guy in the old Twilight Zone episode who wanted time to read all the great books. I don't want an ending like he had, tho)

Actually Aziz Al-Taee had a fairly large sized crowd who joined our "Rally II" in October.
I would venture a guess that they have the same type problem that we have when it comes to getting large crowds.... everybody has jobs and families and all that other stuff.
BTW, Aziz will be at "Rally IV" on Saturday. Come on down and listen to him speak.

Be a little more specific. Nope. Arab Americans is specific enough. If they want to fragment themselves that's OK. They (all Arab Americans)still need to demonstrate their dedication to America, not to Islam or the 'nations' in the Mideast.

Just an excuse to not prove their allegiance. Given the horrors inflicted on us by Arabs, the continuous demonstrations of Arabic (and Islamist) hatred toward the US, and the continuing, deafening silence from the 'Arab American' community - they must get off their butts, get in the streets show America they love it and show the other Arabs (and Islamists) that Arab Americans totally reject the hate and violence directed against the US.
To do less is to prove their animosity toward America.
