It's a good day.

Donahue's first show would have failed if there had been a conservative alternative back then. Liberals only win when competition is eliminated. No wonder they hate free markets.
THE FREE MARKET HAS SPOKEN.

Yep, it's just a predictor of how well Al Franken's anti-Rush radio show will do. There's no commercial interest in the leftist pointyhead view.
Anybody been watching (or at least painfully trying to watch) Joe Scarborough's show. Man, for a Repubbie, that guy can yell and whine! Very annoying - I don't give him more than a month. Looks like MSNBC has another bomb on it's hands. Any bets?

Carol Mosley Braun Did you see the news clip where someone had asked her what she had studied in college and she said she'd have to look it up? Then she giggled and said "I would think it was Political Science but then it might have been history. I'll have to check on that and get back to you".
I think i saw it on Fox News Channel
Yes, Tony Snow showed that on his Sunday show and then he asked his panel if they all recalled what their majors were. Of course, they all knew:
Fred Barnes-History
Cici Connolly-English
Bill Kristol-Government
Juan Williams-Philosophy
Tony Snow-Philosophy

I LIKED Alan Keyes... he controlled his show, he let his guests take turns talking, he had takes that I hadn't thought of. The more I watched him the better I liked him.
OTOH, did you see the part of the Rosie interview wher Donahue gestures to her and says "Look at that fine example of motherhood" not thirty seconds later they're showing a cut of her riding a Harley (FatBoy, I'm sure). Then I had to puke.

Juan is ok for a liberal. He will admit when he is wrong and he stood up for Clarence Thomas and took serious black heat.

Don't forget Paige and Jennifer Griffen!
Let's see... If Norah O'Donnell became a conservative... It would be a beautiful thing.
I like Suzanne Malveaux too.

"He began his MSNBC show on July 15 with a panel discussion on whether the United States should try to oust Saddam Hussein. On Monday night, with Rosie O'Donnell as guest, they talked about the same topic."
By about three to one, Americans favor action against Iraq (last poll I saw was 69% to 23%).
It therefore stands to reason that arguing against the majority opinion of Americans, night after night, isn't going to be a popular program.
MSNBC figured it out. Prior to MSNBC, Britian, Italy, Spain, Poland, Turkey, Australia, Denmark figured it out.

This is from the CNN story about Donahue getting axed.
Donahue's chances weren't helped by MSNBC's impatience, he said.
"They're very quick to cancel shows," Tyndall said. "Right from the start, they haven't settled on a format and let it grow so people can find it. If it's not working in a few months, they cancel it and move on to something else."
How many years did America have Donahue's bug eyes staring at them? It sure wasn't just the time he had on MSNBC that turned America off to him.
The other day, Ann Coulter said something about how before cable, we were told who the media stars were. Donahue won awards for his work in television. But once he had to compete in an open market instead of just with 2 other networks, he bombed. And he bombed big time!

I swear to God, I was saying to my wife last night (jokingly) that the TV listings in our local paper showed MSNBC's 8:00pm EST offering as being "Off the Air". MSNBC will start playing the National Anthem at 8:00.
