Kilmeade Rocks
Posted on 02/25/2003 6:06:16 AM PST by William McKinley
I apologize for this vanity, but for those who just missed Brian Kilmeade absolutely tearing into the leftist propaganda of Janeane Garofalo, did you miss a treat.
The highlight, to me was when he said why should Americans give you credibility merely because you are an actress. She replied, what does what my profession is have to do with anything. His reply:
"It's the only reason you are here."
It was great, I wish it could have gone on but Fox and Friends was over.

That's all you're going to post?
You're just going to tease us and quit?
Where's the beef? Did he make her cry?

You beat me by one minute! I thought that the debate was fairly even, actually. Janeane was still WRONG, but she was a heck of a lot better in expressing her views than any other celeb that I've seen.

My description does not do the exchange justice. She kept going on about how Fox is a right-wing propaganda branch of the government, about how this is a war for oil, and he just would not let her get away with it. Every assertion challenged, and challenged fiercely. He wouldn't let her grandstand, but still gave her every chance to make her case which she refused or was unable to do.
It was sweet.

Brian was great! He didn't let her get away with her disinformation campaign at all.
Hey, she was only a moment away from spouting, "No Blood For Oil.
To: William McKinley
hahahahaha! "The U.N. is NOT irrelevant"...stamping feet in frustration!
To: Illbay
I can't agree.
Her main points were "it's a war for oil". We have seen the replies to this many times over. "Fox is a mouthpiece for the administration". His answers, "Geraldo? Alan Colmes? And since we are winning the ratings battle, what does that say about where the center of this country is?"
And so on.
She was out of her depth.

Don't apologize. Some other clown just posted one sentence about it in Breaking News, and the one sentence didn't even describe what happened.
To: hellinahandcart
A juggling clown?
I thought about posting it to BN, but it isn't really breaking news, and if you didn't see it the post isn't really going to show it. But it was worth bringing up for those who saw it to revel in. It really was fun to watch.

Brian clearly won. Janeane was reduced to "Fox is a pub mouthpiece and what pseudo-intellectual periodicals do you read, Brian" crap.
To: William McKinley
She was po'd. ROFLOL! She was about to cry. lol!
She said, "why don't you invite someone that you respect on here". DUH! That would mean they wouldn't invite her.

Brian Kilmeade was terrific!!! He totally controlled the questioning so that Garofolo couldn't weasel out of her answers. She was really rattled!
I emailed the show to voice my support for Brian. (friends@foxnews.com)

Somebody stated on the other locked thread that Janeane Garofalo had more class.
I think Brian showed what it means to challenge the appeasement orthodoxy of Hollywood espoused by celebrities like Ms. Garofalo.
Ms. Garofalo tried to change facts to her side such as "Inspection can work" when, in fact, the only reason past inspections were successful was because of Iraqi defections. Inspections have never been successful where a country has not willingly disarmed.
I give KUDO's to Brian for having the cajones to challenge and not let her get away with perverting the truth. I'm also somewhat surprised that the the weather guy just sat there and offered Ms. Garofalo a cup of coffee.
I'm sure if the troops in Kuwait saw the exchange, they were root'n for Brian. I know that this old Marine was hoot'n and holler'n "rub it brian... go get her... yeah baby... take that you b*tch... bam ... "
I loved it. =)
