Most Americans never heard of this woman until she became the entertainment industry's unofficial spokesperson for this anti-war movement. Could the powers-that-be in Hollywood be pulling a fast one here by allowing someone to be the mouthpiece for this thing who is relatively unknown? This way, after it is all over, they will not have lost a solid, bankable star. Garofalo may think otherwise, but I am betting she will find herself in the ash bin of history after this is over. This 'cause' will be long forgotten, and these same people will be out there supporting whatever turns out to be the next 'trendy' left-wing thing. With someone else doing the talking.

Those who bury their heads in the sand will NEVER see, not even when the 500 embedded liberal media whores have to show films at 6 & 10 of the mass graves, proscribed weapons and WMD's. To this day we still have buried heads in sand types who say the Holocaust didn't happen, despite the film footage.

You're welcome. We will all remember her if and when she ever makes another movie.

And why did he let her get away with the 32 million number?

I would not call her a total idiot. She has some IQ going on there. It's just that her "feelings" trump her reasoning ability

It may be of interest to Freepers that Janeane Garofalo is of Arab decent.Oh really. I thought she was descended from a rabid llama given this performance.
Some feel that the three S's (Sheen, Streisand, Sarandon) started out in Montana as Buffalo chips on Ted Turner's ranch...Native Americans were seen tossing yeast on these chips and doing a tribal dance around them, chanting "RISE! RISE! RISE!"

Obviously a DU subscriber....and a complete loon. I e-mailed Fox and told them they needed a warning sign when they give people like this air time: Please don't feed the squirrels.

Whenever Garofalo is faced with a question she can't answer, which is often indeed, she resorts to inane attempts at humor. Of course this does little to strengthen the foundation of her position. Rather, it justifies the belief that she knows little of which she speaks. But then, we are supposed to remember she is a comedian, albeit not a very funny one.
As for her "protests" against Clinton's foreign policies, particularly regarding Irag and Kosovo, she was non-existent. And she knows it. Hence the "funny" admission that she had spit. Ha, ha. You funny girl...
At the end of the interview, Tony Snow asked if she would support our troops and, naturally, she said she would. Unfortunately, Snow managed to let her off the hook by not following up with another question, "If we go to war against Irag, will you then support our troops' quest for victory?"
I would have been interested in hearing her shuck and jive her way around that one. We probably would have been treated to more of that well-known Garofalo humor...the kind she displays in most of her movies.
Let's face it...Irag, terrorism, et.al. has done wonders in resuscitating dead entertainment careers. Springsteen, McCartney and others have literally been able to cash in by wrapping themselves in the American flag. Others, like Garofalo, Mike Farrell and Sean Penn, are trying the opposite approach and are meeting with little success...thankfully.

"hegemony" lLOL. She's too stupid to know what she talking about. If I was in NY I would protest the grammies with a big sign that would say "YOUR TOO STUPID TO KNOW WHAT YOUR TALKING ABOUT, SHUT UP"

TONY SNOW: So you think they're [
Afghans] better or worse off than when they were under Taliban rule?
GAROFALO: No, I think that they're basically in sort of the same position in the rural regions [the whole place is rural.] right now.
Nuff said.

She's stupid; think about it:
1. She is near 40 years old
2. She is clueless about the subject in which she arguing
3. She gets on international TV speaking as a 40-year-old clueless idiot
4. Her career is going to be destroyed by this behavior (not that it's going anywhere)
Now if I did anything like this, I would be considered retarded or at least brain-dead, possibly on crack or totally drunk. The B!^ch is a loon.

That's an insult to rabid llamas! I know, I know, I half expect to have my apartment building picketed by a bunch of foaming at the mouth four-legged animals come morning. ;)

Re:
GAROFALO: I'm just in Win Without War, which is 32 million people. A very, very, very small portion of them are actors.
Just looked at the overhead sat pics and there is not 32 million there-- Just the usual suspects: 108 actors, 42 Greenpeace, 22 rappers, 17 cokeheads, two punking drunks, a Salvation Army Colonel and a nine-year old Black girl.
Oooops, that's not a nine-year old Black girl-- its Emmanuel Lewis.

Don't camels spit when they are excited? Yes, but as she sort of dribbles, the llama comparison seemed more appropriate.

GAROFALO: Yes, there's been a lot of people who have been mass murderers...
Also, the sanctions, you could say, have been responsible for mass murder.
Saddam Hussein is responsible for the sanctions against his country, and any deaths it has caused, not the United States. Can we please take up a fund to send her a one way ticket to Baghdad?
To: FoxGirl
...let her get away with the 32 million number?Yeah, over ten percent of the entire population of the United States is a member your little club.
(...a club that I, news junkie extrodinaire, have never heard of.)
Damnit, I tuned into the replay 6pm ET, and just as she was introduced, they cut away for a news conference. The governor of RI needed to report on what a good job he is doing, and to raise the death toll to 97.
