I can't really believe this. And yet I have to. Are you really going to be whipped up into a frenzy over this?
To: bobbyd
I bet this ad campaign was planned long ago and the merchandise ordered even before that. Look for it in the bargain basement real soon.

It looks like a waste of time to freep Steinmart over something this trivial - the towels were probably weren't manufactured in France.
And this post certainly doesn't belong in Breaking News.

Not Stein Mart, bobbyd.
A boycott is stupid. Mailbombing a shop because it sells France-related products is stupid. It's un-american and un-conservative. It means you're equating the citizens of a country with its government, which is in essence the opposite of what America is supposed to stand for. Especially when opinion polls show that the french are less opposed (about 70%) to a war than the spaniard of the brits, who are opposed at 80 or 90%, contrary to their governement.
How would you feel if your company suffered from a european boycott, because of something the Clinton administration did? Would you see this as fair, justified, intelligent?

But seriously. How can you, an intelligent, thoughtful member of this free republic community, be serious about something like this.

You have the best of intentions, but I'm suggesting that FReeping resources should be reserved for situations where it's likely to do some good.
French wine, cheese and fashion boycotts are more likely to have the desired economic impact - rather than Freeping a towel that has the word "Paris" embroidered on it.
