Former Ohio congressman John Kasich's "From the Heartland" segment tonight on FoxNews featured a guest, Zainab Al-Suwaij, the executive director of the American Islamic Congress. FoxNews' website says about this segment:
A Muslim Makes the Case for War Against Saddam John talks with Zainab Al-Suwaij is the executive director of the American Islamic Congress. Ms. Al-Suwaij joins us from Bosnia and explains what it was like to grow up in Iraq in the shadow of Saddam Hussein's reign of terror. She believes that this is a war that must be waged.
Zainab made an interesting statement regarding the so-called "peace" marches, that there has been no such peace in Iraq for the past 15 years, because of widespread torture and oppression under Saddam.
From their website:
Mission: The American Islamic Congress (AIC) is a social organization that is dedicated to building interfaith and interethnic understanding. Our organization grew out of the ashes of September 11. The vicious terrorist attacks made many American Muslims realize that we had been silent for too long in the face of Muslim extremism. We believe American Muslims must take the lead in building tolerance and fostering a respect for human rights and social justice. We have a responsibility to help our country rebuild from this attack, and to our religion to reassert that we are moderate and peace-loving people.

I shudder to think that America is allowing Islam to gain even a foothold in the heart of America.

Well, King Todd hasn't repealed the First Amendment yet. Nor has he yet impeached President Bush for saying that we are at war with Islamists, not with Islam.

Islam was declared illigitimate and not under the purview of "religion" to be protected under the First Ammentment back in 1892. (in case anyone is interested)

I meant that I would like to see these Muslims prove their good intentions. I'm skeptical.

Interesting. I had read a lengthy article at the Lebanese "Daily Star" a couple of months ago. It was covering a 'delegation' of Muslims who were sent there (on a U.S. grant), and talking to students at a university, wherein they were unabashedly advised to use America's political system to spread Islam and Muslim interests in our country. Meanwhile, they also had a 'field-day' critizing our foreign policies, and our relationship with the 'Jooos'. Don't worry, in due course, our politicians will all sell out; most glorify power (self-power), and would sell their grandmother's if it gave them a photo-op.

"

No, it was the New York State Supreme Court in a ruling on an immigration case where some people had inported a moslem poo-bah as a teacher. The ruling has never been vacated or overturned, so it stands todaya as the law of the land.
To: nightdriver
Correct me if I am wrong, but wouldn't a NY Supreme Court apply in NY only? Wouldn't it have to be a federal court ruling to be the 'law of the land'?

I saw that tonight, she's a sweet woman and I loved it when John told her that she was a true jewel. He mentioned something about her personal story, does anyone know what that's about?

"

The only way this could be changed is if the NYSSC vacates its ruling or the USSC overturnes it and neither one has happened in over one hundred years.
