B.O.N.D. ping from MERCURIA!!!
"Rev. Jesse Lee Peterson is the most articulate, outspoken critic of the civil-rights establishment in America today. Often referred to as "the other Jesse" and "the antidote to Jesse Jackson," Rev. Peterson is the author of the "National Day of Repudiation of Jesse Jackson" event. As Rev. Peterson likes to say, "It looks like I have a job for life!" Rev. Peterson is also the man behind the Boycott of the NAACP, believing the organization to be nothing more than a tool of the "elite, socialist" Democratic Party."

Third Annual National Day of Repudiation
of Jesse Jackson - 1/21/02by Marian Hollenbeck
Having a night job and playing simple yet multiple games of juggling with what life throws at you during the conscious part of one's daylight hours normally impedes on one's abilities to wake up relatively early to do what I call "active business for a cause". (Not all of us have had our metal completely forged and perfected in the fire - heck, some of us don't even come close. But at least we're trying.) But it wasn't quite so difficult on Monday.
Because of Jesse Lee Peterson's recent legal action against Jesse Jackson and Rainbow/PUSH due to a Rainbow/SHOVEing match against Mr. Peterson at a Toyota meeting, I had a feeling some of Jesse Jackson's people would be there, one way or the other.
It was a beautiful day in Los Angeles, but if I described it as "chilly", a good many of my East Coast friends would trash me for being a wimp, so I'll skip the weather report.
SIGNS AND WONDERS
Whatever one may think of Martin Luther King, Jr. personally or politically, the ideals of a just world he presented might indeed be a dream beyond any capability of men of sin that we all are, but sometimes it encourages the better angels in us if we reflect - and, the Spirit willing and the flesh being launched out of Comfort Zone Apathy Disorder, act - upon those ideals to try, in our own little way, to make things as they should be for beings created in the Divine image and able to interact as no other creation with the God we profess is Lord of our nation...or even, for those who do not accede to the existence of a Creator, for beings that should undoubtedly have more sense than a sheep and more of a sense of right and wrong beyond fulfillment of this moment's carnal or emotional craving.
Jesse Lee Peterson (who, in fact, does believe in a Creator) has worked for over ten years to assist black men in realizing that there is something better than rage as the focus for their lives. And one of the biggest obstacles he recognized, as a former disciple of self-appointed black leaders and now as a pastor and community activist, was the betrayal of black activist ministers in their preaching of racial politics and powerplays to their followers and encouraging the loathing of individualism. The flocks are ripe for use as political pickings and funding , but you can expect to be turned into lamb chops if the groupthink switch these bad shepherds have worked for years to install in you suddenly blows a fuse. If white people want to know what hell is like, jokes Mr. Peterson, "turn black and become a black conservative."
The recognition of Jesse Jackson's nightmarization of Dr. King's dreams of unity and content of character trumping color of skin in the consideration of people was the inspiration for several signs:
J.J. YOU'RE NO MLK!
JESSE JACKSON - PROBLEM PROFITEER
WE SHALL OVERCOME J.J.
MLK: "I HAVE A DREAM." J.J.: "SHOW ME THE MONEY!"Some of the most enthusiastic sign-wavers were members from the on-line news dissemination and activist club FreeRepublic.com. Different backgrounds, different ages, different colors of FReepers were represented at the Repudiation...not to mention many shades of conservatism / Constitutionalism and differences of opinion. But whatever the differences, we put them aside. We were all there because we agreed that Jesse Lee Peterson is and has been right about Jesse Jackson, and we were there to show our support for Reverend Peterson and his ministry, Brotherhood Organization of a New Destiny...
