Seattle Radio Station (570KVI) starts grass roots project: Pro War TV commercials

My local radio station, 570 KVI, has started a project to put a Pro Troops, Pro Bush, Anti Saddam, and Pro War tv commercial on our local TV stations. The radio station has pledged to pay the costs of making the commercial which is estimated at $5,700.00 and the radio hosts are asking donations from the audience to pay for the air time. This project was just made known to the audience this morning and their phones have been ringing off the hook with pledges. It is estimated we got at least $15,000.00 in pledges within the first 3 1/2 hours. One of our local radio hosts, Kirby Wilbur, states the commercial air time costs are at an all time low right now because of economy and the time of year. I think this is a great idea and encourage all FReepers to suggest this to your local radio stations or make a donation to KVI to purchase more air time for our wonderful commercial. Kirby Wilbur stated that 100% of donations received will go toward purchasing air time.

May I suggest it be more "anti Saddam" than "pro war". A very important distinction, and one less point of argument for the protestors.

As of 9:00 Pacific Time, we have raised approx $75,000.00. Thanks to all the wonderful KVI listeners and a big thanks to Sean Hannity for mentioning it on his show. KVI is getting calls and donations from all over the country because of Hannity's exposure.
