This is my first post. Hope I am doing it right. Be gentle if I am not. Some of you scare me:) This was sent to my 21 year old daughter. She was very offended that they think all her age are pro-choice. She is returning the survey, but they won't like her answers.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America, Inc Gloria Feldt President Dear Friend, I'm writing today to ask for your participation in an Important national survey concerning the status of reproductive health car and reproductive rights in the United States, and in your area specifically.
That’s why I have enclosed a National Survey on Reproductive Health, prepared just for your use. We’re sending this survey to a limited number of Individuals across the country.
This survey contains questions concerning a range of related issues--sexuality education…birth control…abortion…disease prevention…federal and state legislation…anti-choice extremist violence and other threats to freedom of choices.
We hope that you will provide us with your personal opinions concerning these sensitive issues., so that Planned Parenthood staff can better understand the views of pro-choice America, and rise to meet the challenges we’re facing in this anti-choice era.
As the nation’s oldest and most trusted reproductive health care organization, we’ll be able to formulate our agenda and structure our message to the public based on the information you and others provide.
Most importantly--we want to use the information drawn from this survey to prove to President Bush--and members of the anti-choice Congress -- that the majority of Americans support reproductive rights.
From his first days in office, President Bush has taken action to dismantle women’s rights and restrict access to the family planning services and information that help keep women safe and make it possible for them to plan the size of their families.

But President Bush is not working alone to promote his anti-choice agenda. Both houses of Congress have been controlled by an anti-choice majority for more than six years. Now, with an ally in the White House, anti-Choice members of Congress are preparing to “fast-track” legislation that would turn back the clock on women’s rights.
Your input to this survey can be a major weapon in our battle to preserve reproductive freedom in this nation.
You should have no doubts -- freedom of choice is far from secure.
In Congress, the White House, and in more and more state legislatures, anti-choice political extremists are in power.
Every day, our citizens face violence from opponents . Every month, more and more doctors retire from their reproductive health practices so they and their families can escape harassment.
As a result, more and more women find it more and more difficult to get the health services they need.
The struggle we face with anti-choice fanatics in truly life threatening -- we cannot afford to lose this battle.

This is the only part of this letter they care about. The "survey" has no meaning. It's a typical fundraising tactic. I've seen it used by the right, too. I never respond. It only encourages this dishonest approach.

Feldt leaves out the part about Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger trying to reach out and exterminate the black population with her Negro Project in 1939. I'll bet her ideals paralleled those of Adolf Hitler, albeit through different means.

Margaret Sanger, through Planned Parenthood, advocated abortions on Afro-Americans in order to eliminate what she called "socially undesirable people". This site is an excellent Afro-American response against Sanger's racist eugenics: Genocide against Afro-Americans"

This is the crux of the matter. Your daughter could say anything she wants on the survey, it's just sucker bait to get the dough. Her answers would be filed in the circular repository the second they're separated from the almighty check.
I used to get these things all the time (and I'm a male), finally I started sending them back with an invoice for $25 - $30 bucks as compensation for the 15 minutes I spent contending with their junk mail.
I never recieved my payments, but before long they left me alone.
What would they be calling themselves - I wonder!!
What were the questions in the survey? It's interesting they assume your daughter is pro-abortion.
This will cost them about a $1 just to receive it back.
Unless the US post office is in bed with them...i.e. may not ever make them pay their postage bills.
Yeah, sounds like an ubiased servey, just so their "staff can better understand the views of pro-choice America", all right.
