How refreshing! Unfortunately, there are still not enough Hollywierd members that support our president to make me break my 2+ year boycott.
I have more respect for Mr. Jones, though.

"...they had to pick Darth Vader when it came to discussing the fact that he SUPPORTS President Bush with regards to Iraq."
At least they didn't bring up his being a villain in Conan the Barbarian. A darn good villain too. James Earl Jones was also the heroic mentor to the 'boy scout' in 'Clear and Present Danger'.

"Yeah, but imagine if our military used his voice for high-volume-level psyops programming."
In the last Gulf War, didn't they surrender to tonka trucks?

"New York Times: Bush linked to dark side!"
ROFL!
You both got me thinking....
Pravda: James Earl Jones is GW's real father. "You know it to be true!"
To: John Jorsett
"I wonder how long it'll take for people to start calling him George Bush's lawn jockey?"
Never. They wouldn't dare. Imagine how many would tune in to Rush or Shawn Hannity or Fox News if James Earl Jones were interviewed over something like that. Also, the man is displaying courage.

JEJ did indeed play Thulsa Doom in CONAN THE BARBARIAN. BTW, the director of that film, John Milius, is a long-time member of the NRA and has been partially blacklisted in Hollywood ever since RED DAWN in 1984.
Want to see a GREAT movie? Rent Milius' THE WIND AND THE LION sometime. A fictionalization of the "Pedicarus (Sp?) Incident". American Marines invade a lawless Arab country, free the hostages, and overthrow the government -- much to the dismay and scorn of European diplomats and other cheese-eating surrender monkeys.

"Of course, back in 1998 conservative peacenicks (who represented a majority on FR among the GOP members in Congress) would have slammned him because of his support for Bill Clinton's war in Kosovo."
I never was a peacenic. I just know Clinton too well. And my suspicions were confirmed. It was a strangely initiated war, based on slander and extreme exageration, and the diplomatic course was poisoned with a 'complete surrender' ultimatum. Even the World Criminal Court had one heck of a time convincing itself that Melosevic was guilty by their estimation. We also bombed two embassies during that absurd bombing raid.
Kosovo was a typical 'blame the Christians and support the poor muslims' fiasco. And the irony is that Kosovo is the Holy land of the Serbs. Now it is overrun with Islamic extremist terrorists. I would not be surprised if al quaeda are hiding out in Kosovo, THANKS TO CLINTON.
Clinton, by the time he started a 'Battle of Britain' style war, based on the Nazi model, he had no credibility. He was caught dealing with China, caving to North Korea, the Ron Brown head hole photos, the Tainted Blood scandal, more information coming out on Waco. The man was not fit to lead a war. If he really believed he should wage that war, he should have resigned and allowed Al Gore to lead it.
No, Melosevic was not a sainted martyr. But Kosovo was being overrun with Islamic terrorist nut cases from Albania who wanted to annex Kosovo. That is essentially what Clinton allowed to happen. And mark my words, the Serbs will try to take it back by force one day. Well they should. It's their land. This might be the only time in the 20 Century that we fought the wrong war.
