I read somewhere that Burton did a play, and the audience kept asking him to do other things afterwards just to hear his voice. He finally had to stop because he ran out of memorized Shakespeare, so they got him a phone book and he read names.
A different voice from Jones'. Sharper, not quite as deep. And just a great arrogance with that accent. Anyway, though, they're tough to choose between. If you want someone to be the voice of God, though, its Jones. So maybe he gets an extra point for that.

Its funny but I hate to associate James Earl Jones with Hollywierd - I prefer to associate him with Shakespearean actors. Classic performers - not Hollywierd!

Could someone please make a DVD of "Red October" with ahole edited out? I know what you mean -- we are now down to watching the AMC channel, all those stars have gone on to their just reward.... We can't rent anything 'cause there are so many Hollywood idiots -- we decide if we can watch the movie by seeing if the "good guys" outweigh the "idiots"

It gives no credence to the war. Nor does it subtract. However it's not our side that uses celebrities as pitchmen for our causes.
But you're a hit and run troll.

I can't believe all these words of praise for the guy who got all those people to commit suicide in Africa back in the 1970s.

Let's not forget the conservative, James Woods, when noting 'sane' actors. [Actresses are aslo referred to as 'actor', so there are a few genuine beauties out there who are conservative also.]

I got this CD set, ostensibly for my husband, but it turned out to be one of those Homer Simpson bowling ball type gifts, that has audio clips from many of the big classical actors performing Shakespeare. John Gielgud, John Barrymore, Lawrence Olivier, Alec Guiness, Richard Burton, Jose Ferrer, all performing (not just reading) Shakespeare. Some of them are movie clips, but most I think are BBC clips from plays performed on the radio. You should hear Anthony Quayle from "Antony and Cleopatra"--he has a voice to rival Richard Burton's.

I may be wrong about this, but didn't JEJ do voiceovers for Rush Limbaugh early on?
Yes, he did the "You listenin' to the EIB Network" thing, but if I recall correctly, he requested Rush stop using it. I could sure be wrong on the 'cease and desist' part, though.

BTW, I saw something on (ugh) Bryant Gumbel the other night about the great Bulls forward, "Butterbean" Bob Love, who had a terrible stuttering problem as and adult---so much so it hurt his basketball career in that he didn't get endorsements. He conquered it, and now is a (ugh) for Democratic candidate for a city council office in Chicago.
But you have to hand it to this man. He was broke, and down on his luck, squandered his BB money, and picked himself up, got help from a therapist, and had a good job in PUBLIC RELATIONS with a large Chicago firm.

I am also reminded of the story of Sidney Poitier who came to the States from the West Indies speaking with such an accent he he could not be understood by us "natives." He rid himself of the accent, but his careful, flowing speech shows the results of his training.

I am fond of the voice coming from 'Hannibal Lecter'; that actor's pronunciation is exquisite, also. Peter O'Toole and the now gone Richard Harris also please the aural senses.

The conservative actors list is pretty short -- but I'm thinking there are quite a few who are just sitting quietly and not saying anything who are supportive -- it's a death-widh to announce you're conservative in Hollywwod, unless you have a LOT of clout
