HELP: How Does Our Company Send A Gift Package To a Unit In The Middle East?

My co-workers and I want to prepare a gift package for a unit/squadron protecting our freedom in the Middle East. I've done some preliminary searching on the Internet and haven't been able to answer a lot of our questions. Perhaps the FREEPERS can come to our rescue?
From the few sites I've browsed I'm concerned that it isn't possible to send a package to a specific group of service people. I'm also concerned that the military is not accepting "personalized" and "custom" gift packages.
So, is this the case or have I been introduced to "capiatlistic" pressure from companies that have a vested interest in "prepared" gift baskets channeled through third-parties?
Please advise on any information, sites, or people you would like to recommend. Someone out there must have family members that we can support.
Likewise, anyone that is interested in jumping on the bandwagon can contact me if they would like to donate to our gift package. I'll email any interested participants pictures of the final package before it mails, assuming I get positive feedback regarding this process.
Stay well, FREEPERS. We are an important part of the last bastion of sanity and logic in this crazy country and world.

So, is this the case or have I been introduced to "capiatlistic" pressure from companies that have a vested interest in "prepared" gift baskets channeled through third-parties? No, it's the reality that some people would send stuff that would harm our troops - like Anthrax.
The "Any Servicemember" letter/package program that was so popular during Desert Storm was cancelled last year due to the Anthrax threat.
Contact the USO for assistance. I've seen articles like this one about the USO helping kids send Valentines to our troops.

You can still send packages to a specific military member who you know and who knows you. You just are not able to send a package to "Any Servicemember" or any unit any longer. Servicemembers have been instructed not to accept letters/packages sent to them from someone they don't know - for security reasons as I previously mentioned.

More info here on Operation USO Care Package which accepts individual and corporate donations for deployed troops.
Corporations may contribute to this program through financial contributions, items donated in bulk for the care packages, or through implementation of an employee participation program. Many items on the USO's Wish List may be branded with corporate logos.
Individuals may also donate $25, which goes toward sponsorship of an Operation USO Care Package. Personal greetings may be included in the package.

Bump! Let's get going and support our troops. The very possibility of these blasted anti-war protests undermining our guy's confidence is abhorrent.

Don't forget Tabasco Sauce (though the MRE's have little bottles now), Baby Wipes, and Zip-lock bags...

I would contact the unit's base Public Affairs office. They can likely provide you with a contact address where you can forward mail.
