Peacenik's dirty trick at Anchorage rally goes too far.

I regret to inform you fellow Freepers about an incident that occurred today while I was peacefully (but stoutly) counter demonstrating the filthy peacenicks. I charged right in, by myself because I was the only counter protester, into a crowd of 300 or so and gave them a good solid piece of my Marine Gulf Vet mind with my 10 watt megaphone. The local news then asked to interview me and I agreed. I proudly held my sign that stated that "peaceniks are parasites of freedom", adorned with the Free Republic logo in front of me. During the the very calm and thoughtful interview I noticed that one of the peaceniks had adorned herself in a very fancy KKK "ghost" outfit and was standing immediately behind and to the side of me in the camera frame. The insinuation of course is that I'm a member, and the video and pictures will be used against both myself and I'm sorry to predict, Free Republic.

I'm really sorry, guys, I'm devastated to know that I could have caused some harm to FR. I'm really sorry.

Maybe we have enough of a head start to block some of the predictable outcome of this.

I have already contacted all of the FoxNews shows to let them know. I believe I can get original footage of the incident. I also plan to sue "Alaskans for Peace and Justice" for defamation of character.

Contact the station that did the interview. Make sure they know that you had nothing to do with the person in the KKK get-up and that you suspect it was deliberately done by the peaceniks.

Insist that if the disruptor's presence will affect the viewer's perception of you that the station 'digitize' the background to make his appearance indistinguishable.

I was a news photog for 10 years...when someone did something similar to what you've described to a subject I was shooting, I zoomed in so they would be in effect 'cropped out' of the shot.

That being said, even if he is in the back of your shot, people will assume someone who would go that far to interfere is a wacko jerk, anyway.

What's the worst thing that can happen? It MAY air on the local affiliate, if the network DID pick it up, it would likely be the pictures of the protest, not the entire piece (with the reporter's voice track and the soundbites).

Bottom Line: Probably won't turn out to be a big deal.

Tell them you want all copies of thje tape and if the matter is not taken care of immediatly you have lawyers that ill immediatly sue for defimation of charactor.

I wouldnt play with these people at all because they sure as he$$ would sue for you making a mistake !
