no...don't know any of that....
I do get a kick out of people saying that sp would hose down the boat right after fishing in the bay because everyone knows that salt is corrosive....hah
.everybody also knows that a 14 foot boat is not the best choice for bay fishing for sturgeon, and probably 0930 am is not the best time to leave for a day of fishing ..

Yeah, I've heard all the speculations about if this was the proper boat or time to go fishing. But without an answer to the question of whether this boat was ever in the sea can only lead me to think that this 'huge' news in nothing.
From what I've read on this thread one of two things is possible.
1. He washed all the salt water off...doubtful.
2.The boat was never in salt water....ever.

If you follow my reasoning here you will see why these questions are vital.
If the boat has never been in salt water...bingo! Add another item to the list of circumstances that point to SP being a liar.
If the boat has been in salt water before and the cops can't find a trace of salt water then it would be reasonable to believe that washing/hosing a boat down is very effective in removing the trace of salt water.

This is so miniscule as as to be microscopic and I question why it is even posted here on Free Republic. Don't waste our time.

The reason for the debate over whether Scott hosed down his boat and flushed out the engine is his alibi. He claims he was fishing in the Berkeley Marina the day his wife went missing.
It's important to know if there is evidence of salt water on his boat. If there is none and he won't tell whether he hosed it down good, then he isn't being forthcoming. I would bet this is one of the things that the police would like to talk with Scott about. Like, where did you wash it, and when, etc.

hmm, reservoir search....Wonder if there might be 3 55gal drums somewhere on the bottom of that reservoir, partially filled with cement?

Hopefully, SP doesn't own a flush kit for the engine. One wouldn't expect to find any saltwater inside the engine IF he flushed it. That's the whole idea of a flush kit. If he doesn't own a flush kit, then maybe that is why LE is focusing on that aspect. Another poster pointed out that Berkely Marina has facilities there for boaters to clean the saltwater from their boats. We also have the report of the police finding a blue tarp in the SF Bay and the search dogs hitting on it for Laci's scent, so there's another variable in the story. The absence of saltwater from SP's boat is not as big as some have made it out to be. My family owns a vacation property on the gulf coast of FL. We keep a 24' Center Console ouboard fishing boat there. You would be hard pressed to find any saltwater in it when I get done cleaning it out, and the only water it ever sees is saltwater. Saltwater is VERY damaging, and one pays dearly for not getting rid of it. SP doesn't strike me as the type that is that thorough however, and it may turn into something, but then again, maybe not.

In Los Angeles last week, a black woman was killed in a gang crossfire as she carried groceries to her church, where she was a well-loved volunteer. No mention on FR that I saw. But I guess that's just life in the big city.So why didn't you mention it?
To: PFKEY
The stepfather indicated that the boat might have been a recent purchase. He hadn't seen it before.
I do think it is strange to go fishing that far away when you are expected on the same day for dinner at your in-laws.

People don't think murder is no big deal. But people know there are dozens of murders every day. It's simply not interesting.

AP Wire: Hank Rearden dead. Really dead. No one cares.
Let's move on.
To: ACross
Apparently, a lot of people give a hoot. There have been quite a few threads on FR discussing this case. And JR apparently doesn't mind, as these threads haven't been pulled, and he hasn't dropped in to tell everyone to knock it off.

See, two can play that game. I have seen plenty of crime stories here where the victim was not pretty and white.
To: STOCKHRSE
You cut out the part where I explained the difference between what is "huge" and what is miniscule. Seeing that some people who claim to be conservatives have no judgement in that area, I thought it worth my time to enlighten them.

Whoa! I did not hear about this.
Well ... eventually, I believe she will be found and I still believe SP will be proven guilty of getting rid of her and the baby - I hope they fry the guy!
