WASHINGTON - In a chilling new audiotape, Osama bin Laden yesterday urged suicide attacks against Americans if there's a war with Iraq - and said his network of fanatics will fight alongside the Iraqis.

Bin Laden, who has not been heard from since November, expressed solidarity with the Iraqi people and gave them tips on fighting Americans - but he pointedly called the government of Saddam Hussein "infidels."

Bin Laden's dead as a dodo and the alleged voice of his on tape proves nothing - on the other hand the ties between a dictator and terrorists has been revealed for all but the most willfully dumb and blind to see.

"The thing that the enemy fears the most is to fight a city war," bin Laden said.

HAAAAHAHA!! This coming (supposedly) from a coward leading cowards.

Fine. He can lead them all into the gaping fires of hell.

Get a load of this conspiracy theory:

Some voiced suspicion that the White House might have engaged in selective leaking of intelligence information -- or fabricated it outright -- to justify the buildup toward war.

No one could explain how Powell was able to tell the Senate Budget Committee about the contents of the bin Laden tape -- and Al-Jazeera's intention to play it -- hours before the Qatar network broadcast it. In fact, just after Powell finished speaking at about 8 a.m. PST, the network denied being aware of the tape's existence. It played the tape about four hours later.

Tenet said he had become aware of the tape Monday night but was not aware of its contents Tuesday morning, adding to the mystery over its origin.

Peppered with questions, White House Press Secretary Ari Fleischer said Powell's information was solid, but he would not divulge how the administration was aware of the tape's contents. Fleischer defended Powell's mention of the tape, saying: "I think you could easily make the case if we are aware of something like this, and we didn't say anything about it, your questions would be: 'Why aren't you saying something\ Are you trying to hide something?' "

Some cynics suggested the tape might have been a fabrication. Others said the administration's truthfulness was beside the point.

UUUU aaaa The latest Bin Laden tape.

Lets see ...

This is the guy that has a plan to destroy the United States and here he is making an announcement on the defence of Iraq. Oh yeah fight in the cities he sais (assuming iraq has no military officers an no plan for defence).

Then he sais launch suicide attacks (yeah right!)

Out of all the days he could have made the announcement is just days before a new UN resolution (the timing is amazing).

This tape has been authenticated I think.

If this is really Bin Laden on the tape then Osama Bin Laden is Larrence of Arabia.

Just bomb Iraq and please stop this pathetic propaganda.

Make Bin Laden's day, week, month, and year! Put a permanent smile on his face! Spit on the figurative graves of the 3,000 people that he caused to have vaporized in New York and Washington! Do all that by INVADING IRAQ NOW!

Some cynics suggested the tape might have been a fabrication.

I'm quite certain that the tape is a fabrication by whichever surviving al-Qaeda lieutentant inherited Binnie's tape collection. That doesn't change the fact that the people running what's left of the organization are allied to Saddam.
