The Serbian prime minister says Serb forces should return to Kosovo
The Serbian authorities have announced that they are putting their police and army units which patrol the border with Kosovo on a state of alert.
The announcement follows rising tension in the area over recent days.
The United Nations - which is in charge of the southern Serbian province of Kosovo - says it has no information which would suggest that a forthcoming attack is likely.
The Serbian authorities say they are reacting to information they have received that terrorists, in their words, are getting ready in Kosovo to head into southern Serbia.
Tension 'declined'
The information, they say, comes from the United Nations mission in Kosovo, or Unmik.
A spokesman for Unmik told BBC News Online he was not aware that any information to that effect had been passed to the Serb authorities and he said there is nothing to suggest an attack is likely to take place.
Overall, it is felt that tension in Kosovo has dramatically declined since the conflict there between Serb forces and the majority ethnic Albanian population in the late 1990s.
However from time to time tension does rise and it appears to be doing so right now.
Dangerous game
Recently around one-third of MPs in Kosovo's parliament supported a motion on independence, although that was later put on the back burner.
And just the other day the Serbian prime minister said that Serb forces should be allowed to return to Kosovo.
Some dismiss the moves on both sides as playing politics.
In the Balkans that can be a dangerous game.

I've been waiting for this for sometime. There was no reason for them to continue to be based there (let alone anywhere else in Europe) in such numbers. Poland will have to decide whether it is part of the EU or not. Sure, Poland will enjoy what in effect is a subsidy from the US, but at some point it will run out of goodwill for the US depending on how much political and economic arm twisting there is. At the end of the day, Poland is in Europe and the money comes through Brussels. The number of issues in which EU Member States can negotiate bi-laterally are shrinking rapidly (for example air agreements). Poland and the other CEECs will come up against this rock sooner rather than later. It will be much harder for the US to arm-twist EU Member States in future.
Still waiting for an agreement between Montenegro and the US for a naval base with a 75 year lease...

Maybe it is a mistake in translation,but I read the same statement in another papers and it sais "453 young persons.." not children!Makes no difference,any way.
the situation is volatile,and informations are true.Wonders,many Serbs in that area have good contacts among local Albanians.Also,I believe that you know that an Albanian,member of the Yugoslav State Security was gunned down a few days ago in Bujanovac?Serbs have a propper information,believe me.Allegedly,there is a conflict among Albanians how to respond on the arrests of seven terrorists from Bujanovac:Ramush Haradinaj,a hard liner,wants to start a war,but some others want a more peacefull approach.
We`ll see.I`ll let you know what "locals say".
As far as alleged,children are concerned:Albanians are a land grabers,not religious fanatics,but...If you take a copuple of youngsters and indoctrinate them propperly,in a few years we will have new "shahids"!Just take a look what is happening in Bosnia:Sarajevo used to be a very nice,laid back place.Very few Muslims were devout ,let alone,fanatical!
Today,Sarajevo is being Islamicized very quickly and the number of young people going to mosques(Saudi+Quiwaiti+Malezian)is on the increase,so is the way they dress or behave.They are very radical!I never thought that it will come to that.
A few weeks ago,a hospital was oppened in Kosovo,financed by the money from the Emirates and oppened by one of their princes.

Of course not. It's never their only interest.
Even the Bosnian Muslims would not stoop that low. The worst they did was to booby trap little kids toys and baby dolls to explode when moved. Employing female CZech snipers, which is nothing, as all sides did that. The BiH also "booby-trapped" Babas by telling them to throw a grenade at the Serbian soldiers as the BiH Muslims fed the Babas lies that non-Muslims would get nasty with them. So, the Muslim grandma would try to throw a live grenade at the opposing forces (if they could unpin the grenade). Just a few examples I wanted to share with others what the Muslims have been known to do according to a live witness.:)
IMHO, it would shock me that child-bombers would be employed in the Balkans by our very own people.
