I'm not as convinced as you are.

One thing I keep thinking is, "This guy's an ACTOR!" His "craft" (as they call it) is to deliver spoken lines (written by someone else) and make people watching him believe that these words are his and are coming from the bottom of his heart. And he's good at it. So good in fact, he's paid a lot (sorry, alot) of money to do so.

Could it be that he's smart enough to look around and see what's happening to the careers of those hollywierd lefties like "K-looney" when they say the stupid things they are saying, and he feels someone that can still bring people to the box office will be needed to fill the void?

Ain't sayin' it's so, just sayin' it's possible. To me, he's done a COMPLETE 180 in a very short period.

Something's up. First Rosie likes the NRA and Bush, now this guy.

This was my take as well, that it can't be the same Ron Silver, liberal activist. Oh, well, maybe he just sees through the liberal BS and hypocrisy on this. James Woods is also a liberal, but he hates hypocrisy when he sees it, especially when he hears it from the left.

I can remember Silver going great guns for the Clinton's healthcare plans and tax increases back in 1993, doing his best knee-jerk liberal spin on CNBC, for quite a stretch.Did he wise up, or was that just an act to remain viable in Hollywood? I can never quite tell if an actor spouts his politics out of cunning or conviction.

The other plausible explanation is that 9/11 clarified the world for many in Hollywood that no other event could.

I really savor the irony of the movies running on Ted Turner's network. Tom is a great actor and more importantly a man of principle whom I've always admired.

Silver is welcome to his views in either direction. And I give more creedence to a change of heart than a pig headed viewpoint brought on by peer pressure.

The bottomline is that he does think. Proven by his ability to tolerate Sheen. Unlike, say, a Saradon's feeble attempt at political analysis.

The irksomeness of the fact that Silver is a private citizen, but socially recognized, with the ability to rub shoulders with heads of state is what makes him quotable. Let's just hope his conversion is transmittable.

What an excellent analysis. I wonder if he came up with this? Either way, he seems to be a smart guy. The rest of the left has nothing but the same old demonization material, suspicious motives, yadda yadda. They can't come up and debate with reason, so they have to go with their current methods, hate and fear mongering.

I have no dillusions about this guy being a reformed liberal, overall, however, I have encountered liberals who, for whatever reason, are "right" about specific issues. For example, I know quite a left wing gun nut. Democrat party worker, unabashed liberal, but he believes 100% in the RTKBA.. Then there is my liberal sister who homeschools her kids and is anti-public school. Even Christopher Hitchens would be a hated man here, if his view on this war and Clinton weren't so inline with the rest of us.
