I've got a picture of Larry circa 1970 next to an old rich guy on a golf course. He looked exactly as Curt has lately except he looked happy. I regret I never got the chance to give that picture back to Curt before he left. From "the Axe" to "the Slice" and loving every minute of it.

I'm trying to remember myself - I don't believe the guy had a nickname; just rolls off your tongue. Darn memory!!

Wow, no more Mr. perfect. Wow, he was one of my faves...jeez. roids, HGH, booze, painkillers, exertion from lifting, travel...that's a brutal way to live.
Used to love Mr. Perfect, he was one of the funniest damn wrasslers. RIP

Although, if he was called "Pretty Boy", that would have been in the 1960s, and I believe his partner was "Handsome" Harley Race (also known as "The King"). Was it Pat Patterson in the 1970s/early 1980s?

Luscious Lars Anderson was Hennigs partner but don't remember them being world tag team champions.

I think the Sheik and "Iron Sheik"(who defeated Bob Backlund) are two different people. I can't swear to that however.

You don't know the Sheik from the Iron Sheik and you call yourself a Michigander?
For shame....

Ivan Putski works or worked as a security guard at the Annapolis Mall in Maryland. I saw him there a few years ago. Can you imagine the poor punk who gets the "Polish Hammer" for swiping some candy... Speaking of former AWA wrestlers, a friend of mine told me a couple years back that the German Claw Master himself, Baron von Raschke, now owns a craft store in Bemidji, Minnesota. He was there with a traveling hockey team at a mall, walked in and saw him standing behind the counter.
As a huge wrestling fan, he struck up a conversation with the Baron and found, not surprisingly, that he was often recognized. "And that is all the people need to know ..."

I would have bet money on Tammy "Sunny" Sytch being the next wrestling performer to check out...

They try to shock folks with insane skits instead of wrestling skill. They have NEVER had wrestling skills on TV wrestling period. If you want to see real wrestling go to a high school tournament. If you want to see combat wrestling watch Pride Fighting. If you want to see a joke - Watch the WWF or whatever.

I used to hang at a bar where the bouncer made extra cash as a heel whenever the circus, er, WWF would come to town. Our bouncer was a pretty big fella but the "Stars", such as Kurt Hennig always looked so much bigger.
I saw a Biography on "The Rock" the other night. To be a star in professional wrestling, you do have to have it all, athleticism, drive, charisma and luck. Sure, it's one big choregraphed soap opera, but these guys work their @$$e$ off. When it comes right down to it, it's no different than pro football. To old Vinny Mac, you're nothing but a piece of meat.

Sad.
I'm old enough to remember Larry and Curt in this picture...
