'Dude, you're getting a Dell guy' arrested last night on Marijuana charge

Benjamin Curtis, the 22-year old actor who portrays the Dell Guy in those bothersome computer commercials, was arrested late last night (2/9) on a marijuana possession charge, The Smoking Gun has learned. According to cops, Curtis was holding a "small bag of marijuana" when he was popped on Manhattan's Lower East Side (at Ludlow and Rivington for you Gothamites). Curtis is currently being held in Central Booking and is scheduled to be arraigned later today in Manhattan Criminal Court. Curtis, who lives in lower Manhattan, was charged with criminal possession of marijuana, a misdemeanor. Bonnie Shumofsky, the actor's agent, said she was unaware of her client's bust when contacted this morning by TSG. (1 page)

If you could make a case for people becoming addicted to Cheetos, crashing cars under the influence of them, and generally dedicating their lives to maintain a Cheetos supply, it would be relevant.
Yet you yourself stated...
You can not accept the FACT that alcohol has an ingrained cultural basis.
Hmmmmm...You're right. Alcohol does have an ingrained cultural basis. People are addicted to it, it causes them to crash their cars while under the influence and some are very dedicated to maintaining their supply. It's legal. What's the fuss?

And I will say again that I have never seen drugs do good for anyone.
Shouldn't you make that...I have never seen illegal drugs do good for anyone. as a matter of clarity? I know lots of drugs that do good for many people.

Wow...the powers you must have. You know everyone who has ever done illegal (I presume) drugs and everything about their lives...

Why do kids who dress like dopeheads, act like dopeheads, and talk like dopeheads become upset when they are accused of being dopeheads?

Remember when you could spot potheads by the long hair. It's harder to spot them nowadays. If they have dreadlocks and Bob Marley t-shirts,that's usually a give away. When I was in the Army,a First Sargeant's stereotype of a doper was the GI's that parted their hair in the middle, smoked grape soda and smoked Kools.

Oh, good grief. I cannot believe that they would take somebody to jail for possession of a small amount of marijuana. Heck, I don't know how many times I've seen cops just make the kids pour it on the ground and then turn them loose. Taking a cop out of service for no other reason than so he could say, "Hey, I busted the Dell dude." is silly. Usually, when I made calls, if it was a small amount, I didn't bother to do anything about it at all.

There may be more to it, like he was so ripped they had to get him off the street, or he was trying to drive, etc.

However, this sounds more like a rookie cop fresh out of cadet class who's going to save the world.

In Wyoming when most people hear someone say they want to legalize dope, they turn them off and do not listen to anything else they may have to say.
Power to the majority!
They just consider they must be smoking dope.
Shouldn't that be "presume" (to suppose to be true without proof)?
The majority, practicing prejudice with insubstantiality.

Methinks, if that is the case, that Wyoming needs to change its motto to "Big Lie" instead of "Big Sky".

People who want the active ingredient in MJ can get it through a regular perscription.

Since you seem to be against medical MJ I assume you mean Marinol?

So, let's see if I got that right.

Possesion of any amount of THC (the active ingredient) in the natural form, that is the hemp plant, should be punished. Medical MJ is a hoax and should be prohibited.

But THC in pill form is ok.

So, if me doctor thinks I should use THC for my illness, I have to buy Marinol(the THC pill) for like 2.5$ the pill, but growing the plant is bad.

Is that your point of view? Do you call that fuzzy logic or is that a clear case of doublethink?

There was a deadly silence. Amazed, terrified, huddling together, the animals watched the long line of pigs march slowly round the yard. It was as though the world had turned upside-down. Then there came a moment when the first shock had worn off and when, in spite of everything - in spite of their terror of the dogs, and of the habit, developed through long years, of never complaining, never criticising, no matter what happened - they might have uttered some word of protest. But just at that moment, as though at a signal, all the sheep burst out into a tremendous bleating of -

'Plant bad, use pill better! 'Plant bad, use pill better! 'Plant bad, use pill better!

Some may not be users, some may be dealers.
But...but...you said...
In Wyoming when most people hear someone say they want to legalize dope, they turn them off and do not listen to anything else they may have to say. They just consider they must be smoking dope.
??? They must be smoking dope! They just have to. You said so!
People only get stirred up about what they want.
I want you to get your story straight.

I'll give you some credit, you tacitly admit that there are users and abusers.

I saw him yesterday on a Dell commerical. I guess he's now history.
Unless he is splattered all over the news like
Bob Denver aka Gilligan, probably not.
(my that backdrop looks familiar)
...pleaded no contest to misdemeanor charges of possessing marijuana and was sentenced to six months' unsupervised probation.
He had been scheduled for trial September 3 on charges of possessing about 1 1/2 ounces of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
