Calling herself a modern abolitionist, former Black Panther firebrand Angela Davis brought her campaign to dismantle American prisons to McDonogh No. 35 Senior High in Treme on Friday.
Students and educators were riveted, but they didn't always agree with the African-American activist, 59, who's now a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz.

This article points out a couple of things:
(1) New Orleans is truly a left-wing Hellhole
(2) The Times-Picayune is fast becoming one of the most liberal newspapers in the South.

Activist criticizes U.S. prison system activist? . . . . more like 'communist.'

Angela Davis ought to be in the prison system.

"The first place you've got to start is our high schools because they treat us like we're in jail," Hernandez said, as other students erupted in cheers.
What a fine comment from a student who obviously doesn't want to be in school, and is just about 2 years away from a date with the prison system.

If you think our prisons are bad, ask to serve your time in Mexico. Maybe V. Fox will listen to your case personally.
If you can't do the time...

"How many of you know someone who has been to prison?" she asked, causing hundreds of hands to shoot up across the auditorium. "That's almost everybody, right?I personally don't know a single person who has ever served time in prison. Of course, my family members and friends aren't the type to be out committing crimes in the first place. When, oh when, will people learn that if you don't do the crime, you won't end up having to do the time.
