POLLOCK - A camp "where gay folk begin a journey of discovery" will be in operation from March through November near Pollock, and that has some area residents concerned.

Although Manitou Woods is not billed as a nudist camp, there is a picture on its Web site showing a group of nude men outdoors at the camp. A manitou is a spirit or supernatural force believed in by the Algonquian Indians.

This is among the more conservative cultural areas of Louisiana. In once lived about a dozen miles south of this site.

Ward, 82, runs the camp, which is open from March to November. He said he is part of the peaceful, non-Christian Radical Fairies movement, which has sanctuaries throughout the United States. They are associated with the "back-to-nature" movement and the hippie-run Rainbow Gatherings.

I hate to be in his shoes when he kicks the bucket.

This is part of their plan. Overtake, force people to accept them, this is what they did to San Francisco and New York. FORCE people to accept them or else they will riot, go to court...they're horrible. They scream "homophobia" from the top of their lungs. I'm sick of them.

We invite you to open yourself again to the joys of discovery in nature's domain, and find new views of the magic of sexuality, and to share your gay visions."

How about making life so uncomfortable for them that they just flat up and move away?

(Perhaps you can host their next gathering in your backyard.. Sing coom-by-ah and share scout stories?)

Oh, I know all about them..

While you, OTOH, need to get hold of a copy of the First Amendment and read over it carefully..

And I have a more than reasonable expectation of voicing my opinion on the matter.

I suppose if I want to open a pig farm, waste dump or junkyard next door to you that you don't have the right to complain about it? Hummmm?

No expense spared..!

(Would the GoodYear Blimp people be slow enough this time of year to offer discounts, you think? Eh?)

Fact of the matter is, I don't have to like what you do in your backyard.

I can write a book about it, I can call the news paper, organize a boycott, talk about it in church, put up a bill board or do any number of things to make your life unpleasant.

It's called the "First Amendment"

You really should read through it sometime before you start asking me if I understand them..
