At the request of members, I am restarting those "Tales from the Dark UnderBelly Of the Beast"-- the stories and issues that the press and media either ignore, won't even talk about, or will mention once and forevermore claim "it's old news..."
Naturally, some will be stories which interest me, or things I think we all need to be aware of.
I am experimenting with a minor change in presentation- when I can, I will cut to
-GoogleNewsBeta--
with a keyword or two and see what kind of links to "mainstream" stories I can find in contrast to what we see here and on other sites.
May I remind you of a couple of points to bear in mind?
Each link usually has many other links within- follow them all to get "the rest of the story."
Don't forget the "open multiple browsers" trick with control-n -- this allows you to hold your place with one, and use the others to follow links, run searches, etc.
Rather than go back and rehash old links, I'll give you links to the original posts here:
-DUBOB 10- the *best of* the Dark Underbelly Series--
-DUBOB 9-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast..... --
DUBOB 8-- still *more* tales from the Underbelly***
DUBOB 7-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB 6-- yet *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB 5-- even *more* tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast.....
DUBOB IV- yet more Tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast-
DUBOB III -- "Tales from the Dark Underbelly of the Beast"
DUBOB 2-- more tales from The Dark Underbelly of the Beast-- thread II

This is the most interesting thread I have been on in sometime. This is when FR shines if you ask me because everyone is adding more of the puzzle pieces--
Agreed -- it is explosive. Therefore, the media will start making excuses and hide the facts. Folks in new media will have to work really really hard to make sure this information gets out to the public, and let the facts tell the story.
Gorelick also sits on the board of directors of Schlumberger, a leading oilfield services provider with interests in Iraq... This has the feel of being the tie-in between 9-11, Iraq, the bizarre behavior of the Democrats, and the Oil For Food program. If so, it's no wonder there was such effort to hide information, as well as the opposition to Bolton's appointment...
The
Washington Post and
New York Times reported in March and April that the five documents stolen by Sandy the Burglar were different versions of Richard Clarke's classified millennium "after action review" from early 2000. He also took the handwritten notes he made in the National Archive about the after action review.
Gorelick was deeply compromised by a conflict of interest obvious to the dumbest taxi driver...

But it does involve the FBI and the Defense Department. Ed Morrissey, Jim Geraghty and other bloggers have some thoughts on what Geraghty says could be "one of the biggest stories to come down the pike in a while". Geraghty's post is a great way to get up to speed quickly on the topic.

Canadians Want Strict Security, Poll Finds -- Most favour video cameras everywhere and deportation of terrorist sympathizers... I wonder. They've already given Canadian Islamists everything they have asked for. Are they willing to begin scrutinizing CAIR's activities in Canada? Are they willing to send agents into Canadian mosques and madrassahs? Because if they aren't willing, then they remain clueless.

Victor Davis Hanson: Actually Listen to what al-Queda Really Wants -- You will find that the Jews were behind all the civil strife in this world. The Jews are behind the suffering of the nations. The televised Sheik finished with an even more frightening thought: The day will come when everything will be relieved of the Jews even the stones and trees which were harmed by them
The stones and trees will want the Muslims to finish off every Jew.
The Future of Terrorism: What al-Qaida Really Wants --
What he then describes between pages 202 and 213 is a scenario, proof both of the terrorists' blindness as well as their brutal single-mindedness. In seven phases the terror network hopes to establish an Islamic caliphate which the West will then be too weak to fight.
For those of you who think we are not at war with islam...
9/11 Report Missed Key Facts; 'Huge Deal,' Lawmaker Says -- Well, that just stinks to high heaven! Sounds like we need to clean out the Senate of all the boneheads who enacted the laws (and reaffirmed them year after year by doing nothing) that allowed such a disconnect to occur. This has happened over years and years of neglect and politics.
I don't know why I've been in quite a foul mood of late, but it gets worse and worse each time I drive by a gas station and see the price of gas going up, up, up! I think about how there are folks out there who could barely afford gas when it was $1.50/gallon, and now it's a dollar more/gallon. Who controls the price of oil? (I know this has nothing to do with the Gorelick Wall, but I'm just fed up!) This Gorelick Wall stuff fuels my foul mood.

Hope He'll do something about this:
Poll: Many Fear Financial Hit of Gas Prices -- I'm staying at home all the stinkin' time now. I cannot afford these prices. The majority of Americans don't have room in their budget for skyrocketing gas prices. But to tell you the truth, I don't think anything can help the pubs in '06 or '08. They gave the oil companies a huge tax break. There will probably be a recession by the end of 2006. And they are the party in charge. I would say dems are going to pick up a lot of seats.

August 12......
The AP reports tonight that 9/11 Commission co-chairs Thomas Kean and Lee Hamilton have
changed their story yet again. Now the two say in a joint statement to the press that they
do recall hearing that Able Danger had identified Atta, two days after Hamilton categorically denied it -- and for a man who had supposedly never heard of Able Danger, Hamilton's recall of detail of the briefing appears impressive (via
Tom Maguire):
More on Sandy Burglar:
-- aides were looking for a memo about a briefing given to four staff members by defense intelligence officials during an overseas trip to Afghanistan, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia in the fall of 2003.
Oil prices and job worries cut into growth in France -- the French have done one thing right. Nuclear power. Most of the electricity is supplied by nuclear reactors..of fast breeder type. They use distributed diesel and gas power to peak that when necessary.
Without this..the French economy would really be in negative numbers.
It is lesson for all of us. Nuclear is the answer..it is just surprising the the French left discovered and continue it.
Fort Worth cashing in on gas find -- [ We haven't begun to tap our huge reserves of natural gas. There's plenty of natural gas in Alaska, but no pipeline to get it down to the Lower 48. The Texas drilling should be a good start. ]
In Alaska not only a thousand years worth of methane but theres oil all over the place.. Its on federal land.. and cant be tapped.. since most of Alaska is federal land.. theres oil that cant even be probed to find the extent of it.. ALL held up by democrats.. The largest gold and copper deposit ever found anywhere(Pebble mine), too... all held up by so called conservation groups.. If "its" good for the country(whatever) .. democrats are against it..

Watching Weldon now. This is explosive.
They desperately want to bury this one.
Able Danger disabled -- THE report of the 9/11 commission, once a best seller and hailed by the news media as the definitive word on the subject, must now be moved to the fiction shelves.
Able Danger has changed all of that.

Next, maybe the Able Danger issue may be the big story. It voids the 9/11 Commission and validates Bush. The left will try to bury it. FOX is currently reporting it now.
Today, a WMD (chemical) bunker was found in Iraq, again validating Bush, so the left will try to bury it, too.

This is why Pirro should be supported. The whole 2006 election is about scuttling Hillary's 2008 Presidential hopes. Pirro might be a liberal on many issues but anyone who can end the threat of President Hillary Clinton should be backed by the entire Republican Party.

America and Israel are not the Problem --The Philippines, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, Russia, Kosovo, Sudan are just a few places where islam is seeking to take control, by the worst methods of terror against innocent civilians.
America, Israel and Britain have nothing to do with the islamic problem, in any of these places. It is pure war aggression.
This fact must be repeated EVERY TIME mention is made of Israel, which is a duly established nation.
Muslims seeking to take control are just the same as Hitler and his Nazi aggression, which many muslims supported then (and now).

A Guide To Able Danger Posts At CQ
In order for CQ readers to access the new posts covering the emerging scandal surrounding the revelations about the Able Danger data-mining project that accurately identified Mohammed Atta and three other 9/11 hijackers, I have created a new category for these posts called 9/11 Commission. Here are the posts so far that have gone into this category:

NEW: Another Detail The 9/11 Commission Seems To Have Missed
Later on, I will try to update older posts relating to the 9/11 Commission to put them in this same category. This will be a subcategory of the War on Terror category, so all of these posts will remain within that group as well. Hopefully this post will provide a quick guide to the coverage of Able Danger here at CQ in the meantime.
UPDATE: WorldNet Daily notes some of my analysis in their overview on Able Danger and the collapse of the 9/11 Commission's credibility. Darn, no hyperlinks, but a very nice summary of a few of the above posts.

The Truth about "The Wall" (necessary repost!) -- "Gorelick wrote this op-ed while the 9-ll Hearings were going on, in direct response to AG Ashcroft's testimony. In the light of what we now know about Able Danger, that op-ed needs to be thoroughly dissected. Maybe that's why it's no longer available to read."

Black and gay in Atlanta: Growing community leaves a mark -- Advocates say the community must now begin to flex its political muscle more effectively.
``In Atlanta, we have a large gay population that votes,'' said Adams of Zami, which awards national scholarships for black gays and lesbians. ``There are bread and butter issues that the black gay community cares about. We're doing better at leveraging that.''
What are those issues? I thought there was no gay agenda? So they are admitting they have an agenda they want pushed on the rest of us.
The irony of the expression "gay mecca" never ceases to amuse me.
