Seems rather close to have a check calling it for NO. Is this based on the precincts in. Only 37% of the precints were in... Any Oregonians care to spread any light?

Thank God, we win big time. At last, the people won. "The sky is falling campaign" didn`t work. Looks like a 10% difference. Supporters are actually crying on the tube. The sweetest part of this thing is how the people weren`t fooled by the Oregonian and the public employee thug unions.

Their website has a big, red checkmark next to "no"...heheh.
Yes - 46% (328,578)
No - 54% (389,203 )
57% of Votes Counted
They also have links to all of the county elections offices. The last time I looked, it was passing by only 10% in Multnomah County. It was failing by a whopping 20% in Clackamas County, failing by 10% in Washington County, and failing by 6% in Lane County.

Good for us! I thought for sure Measure 28 would pass after the recent barrage of TV and newspaper "chicken little" stories! Glad to know my "fellow citizens" were not fooled!

If it truly doesn't pass, they better put a suicide watch on all the major newspaper writers and network news anchors. After the constant deluge of sob stories for the last 2 months they still can't convince Oregonians that the state needs more of our money.

This in liberal Oregon??? That should give the tax and spending party here in California pause with their arrogant plans to ram through a hike in the car tax.

The chairperson and the Sheriff of Multnomah County were on the tube tonite happily announcing the release of 114 bad guys tomorrow cause 28 got beat. I`m calling Lars Larson and see if he can ask these two if they have made other cuts, like travel, their own personal staff,...?

Cut spending, don't raise taxes!!Oh but its only 8 bucks more a month. On top of thousands that you're already taxing us. Head back to Moscow Kulangowski.

They are truly, truly despicable people. Hopefully they will be repaid for their actions by the voters next time around, but of course this is the Peoples Republic of Multnomah.

Can you believe the whole sob-story atmosphere on KATU? They were totally sympathetic to the various gummint employees, and only interviewed one guy on the "Yes" side.
BTW, kudos to the Libertarian party for standing against this attempt at pickpocketing. I am ashamed the G.O.P. didn't stand with them on the "No" side.
Also, why the heck can't they shutter the OLCC and close the DEQ stations for a bit? They could also sell off some of their huge motor pool. And, like Tom Cox said, repurpose some of that "Cultural Trust" money!

They couldn't even pass this thing in Lane County, home of the University of Oregon.
Right now, it's only passing in Benton County (home of OSU) and Multnomah County (Portland).
