America Standing Tall Words and music by Michael Yaccarino MickeyYak1@ComCast.net CONTACT FOR CHORDS

America Standing Tall What you have tried to kill doesn’t live inside a wall. Not in buildings or even a shopping mall. You can’t destroy that which is deep inside of our hearts. You have enraged us now we’ll tear you all apart. Standing tall, Through it all, In this war.

America is the best place on this mans earth. Where freedom lives we stand our ground against the very worst. We have a lot to keep we are the holder of the torch. Liberty is our cause we are not afraid to fight this war. Standing tall, Through it all, In this war.

Do you want to know a little secret? You will never beat us down with your anthrax tricks. Were going to make you wish the twins were still standing. You’re going to cursed that day you brought this to our neighborhood Standing tall, Through it all, In this war.

We must take a stand against terrorism in our land Combat it with firmness and fight it to the very end. It is a cowardly violation of our peace We will eradicate in and live in harmony. Standing tall, Through it all, In this war.

Optional lyrics Here in America we stand by our brothers and fight! Expecting mass disorder instead you will feel our might. Now we’re focused and are coming after you We will bear any burden and pay any price. Standing tall, Through it all, In this war.

D A We’re gonna track you down just like the dogs you are. G A We don’t want to see your terrorism in our world any more! D A What really makes you think you can get away with this? G A We’re going to chew your bone just for breakfast. C A C A C A Standing tall, Through it all, In this war.

Outkast 'BOB (Bombs Over Baghdad)'- "...Don't pull the thang out, unless you plan to bang Bombs over Baghdad!..."

I like it... by the way, is that a real song?

As for "Lets Dance", it came to mind, because years ago I remember the Army playing that song, at full blast, when they had Noriega surrounded in his hideout, trying to force him to give up. Something about the image of soldiers waiting for him to come out, the song took on a slightly different meaning than I'm sure Bowie intended.

Of course, listening to Bowie at full blast, hour after hour, might be enough to make anyone shoot themselves in the head, I'm surprised the soldiers didn't off themselves, or blow up the loudspeakers, or surrender to Noriega...

Do you remember the old Clint Eastwood movie, a WW2 episode where he leads a tank company in a raid behind the lines to steal some gold... the tankers went into battle with huge speakers playing country music if I remember correctly... Kelly's Heros, I believe it was...

LOL... I recall that. I thought they also played Whitney Houston's "I Will Always Love You"... no.. now that I think about it, that was another incident that took place in London. Still funny though.

Yes. BOB is a real song. Here is a link to the lyrics. I haven't read them in its entirety, I just like the chorus and the beat (click on the audio icon for song number 8).

Thankyou. We have a winner. Slim Whitman saved the universe. It worked once, it could work again.

With God and Slim Whitman on our side, who dares to stand against us?

By the way, for extra points, who was it that said, "Cry havoc, and let loose the armadillos of war!"...

Randy Newman - Political Science

From the album "Sail Away"

No one likes us
I don't know why.
We may not be perfect
But heaven knows we try.
But all around even our old friends put us down.
Let's drop the big one and see what happens.

We give them money
But are they grateful?
No they're spiteful
And they're hateful.
They don't respect us so let's surprise them;
We'll drop the big one and pulverize them.

Now Asia's crowded
And Europe's too old.
Africa's far too hot,
And Canada's too cold.
And South America stole our name.
Let's drop the big one; there'll be no one left to
blame us.

Bridge:
We'll save Australia;
Don't wanna hurt no kangaroo.
We'll build an all-American amusement park there;
They've got surfing, too.

Well, boom goes London,
And boom Paris.
More room for you
And more room for me.
And every city the whole world round
Will just be another American town.
Oh, how peaceful it'll be;
We'll set everybody free;
You'll have Japanese kimonos, baby,
There'll be Italian shoes for me.
They all hate us anyhow,
So let's drop the big one now.
Let's drop the big one now.
