A National Park Service ranger cited militia leader Chris Simcox Sunday for carrying a loaded weapon and operating without a permit at Coronado National Memorial in southeastern Arizona.
The chief ranger at the park south of Sierra Vista, Thane Weigand, said it appeared Simcox and William Dore were conducting a patrol of the border. "They were doing a special activity inside the park that's not sanctioned by the park," Weigand said.
Simcox, founder of the Tombstone group Civil Homeland Defense, has been conducting citizen patrols of the border area, but he said that's not what he was doing Sunday afternoon. He said he was simply hiking with Dore.
They were driving along Border Road when they came to a fence with a sign that said no vehicles were permitted, Simcox said. So they parked the van and walked past the fence along the road, not knowing the fence was the park boundary, Simcox said.
"Next thing I know, there's somebody waiting in the bushes for us," Simcox said.
It was a park ranger, who said she had been watching the pair, knew who they were and what they were up to, Simcox said. He and Dore were detained for about 3 1/2 hours, and some belongings were seized, Simcox said. Those belongings included a scanner, two two-way radios, his camera, a cell phone and his pistol.
Weigand said the charges against Simcox and Dore are misdemeanors.
Then you came along and essentially seconded what he said ("It was built on blood and guts, those who were not afraid to speak out and stand their f-ing ground"). It appears from your reply that apparently you did this without having read what was behind Dead Corpse's rant that you replied to. Sorry that you innocently got caught in the middle.
"What the sam hill are you talking about?"
I'm Boot, Sam's my brother.

ROTFLMAO, I resemble that remark, mister!
Boot
Read it again, I never said you did.

I have asked the moderator twice to remove what you posted. I don't take kindly to this accusation that is completely, 100 percent not true.
Go ahead and post your explicit threats to commit a violent felony with a firearm against a federal officer
You ought to calm down a little and watch what the hell your are accusing people of. And I still want the post removed.
What the hell do you call this?
Thank you.

You need to slow down friend.
I will leave you to your little hornets nest. Have at it.
Hope everything works out well for you. Good Luck.
You HAD to have heard this from SOMEONE....or read it SOMEWHERE....or you work for the government and were TOLD this by someone? Which is it?
I was attempting to ascertain the GENERIC (as I asked for NO names etc) source or if the poster's comments were HIS opinion as he stated:
Everyone that works for the government in any way what-so-ever has been given instructions to "turn in their neighbor" for the slightest suspicion of anything... Now, someone is gonna ask me to prove that...sorry, I can't as it was done... "off the record" in the name of "Homeland Security"...
Or whether he actually had a 'source' of some type for his comments.
Your comment seems to be posted in support of the original poster, but does NOTHING to answer my question either. Don't assume my position on this issue. Just recognize that asking for a 'source' ---even a generic source in this case---is an acceptable question on Free Republic. The poster chose to not answer and that ended the discussion between he and I. I'm not sure what YOUR point is. You seem to have a rather heady bunch of steam built up....and for the life of me, I can't figure out why.
And here is an example of those "lawful leaders."
"Federal and state lawmakers have targeted Mr. Simcox for hearings to determine if he has violated any laws in forming the armed militia organization and posting its members on private land to stop illegal aliens, smugglers and drug dealers.
The hearings are being sought by Rep.-elect Raul Grijalva, Arizona Democrat; Gov.-elect Janet Napolitano; current Arizona Gov. Jane Hull; and state Rep. Robert Cannell, Yuma Democrat, and are expected to focus on the Tombstone Militia and other civilian militia groups and citizen patrols that have sprung up along Arizona's border with Mexico.
Our gun grabbers have been hard at work to shut down Simcox and company. Looks like they are for the moment atleast succeeding.
Too easy! This isn't a problem, it is a tremendous OPPORTUNITY for Simcox.
All he has to do is set up his own parallel "hearings" to investigate whether Rep. Raul Grijalva, Gov.-elect Janet Napolitano, Gov. Jane Hull; and Rep. Cannell are in violation of the U.S. Constitution, their own state Constitution, Federal and State laws and their respective oaths of office.
I'm sure he can find willing local and national radio, TV and internet sites willing to cover such an event as delicious as this. Off hand, I can think of several nationally syndicated right-wing radio talk show hosts that would give their eye teeth for an opportunity to be involved in this. Can you imagine FR not just covering this, but actually sending FReepers?
Deliver the "subpoenas" to the politicians under the full glare of camera, lights and microphones. Present citizen-witness after citizen-witness telling of the illegal aliens, drug smugglers, murderers and rapists they have had to endure because of the criminal failures of the "defendants" (they must always be referred to as "defendants"). Present legal experts to testify as to the illegality of state and federal officials ignoring their lawful duties. Present LEO, Border Patrol and other experts to testify that all this is official policy, coming down from the top.
When the governor, et al., try to subpoena Simcox for their hearings, publicly threaten to jail any person interfering with the "court's" process. Appoint (and arm in full view) a "bailiff" just for that purpose (it for show, people, it's called theatre).
The whole idea is here is to use street theatre to publicly ridicule the governor and especially that idiot Grijalva on a national level and focus attention to the immigration problem in a way that can't be ignored, and to raise the issue that elected criminals, such as these, WILL either change their policies or risk being held accountable.
Make up your mind. Do you want to just sit there and piss and moan and give up or maybe post angry, empty, and anonymous threats on some internet forum? Or do you want to do something that just might work?

Another: When the "other side" tries to serve "their" subpoenas on Simcox, just ignore them, tear them up in front of the cameras while chanting "Hell no, we won't go". Make them drag him in to court where Simcox will loudly demand (for the cameras) "If Grijalva, Napolitano, and Hull won't honor his subpoenas, then I won't honor theirs!"
Even when the cameras are turned on Simcox in the official hearing (which of course he will be forced to appear at), he has to be coached on how to turn their hearings into an extension of his own street theatre.
Remember, the goal here is to humiliate, ridicule and expose these public officials (and by extension, their co-conspirators in Wash, DC) as perpetrating a criminal fraud by allowing and condoning the illegal immigration.
