Park Ranger Cites Militia Leader, Seizes His Gun

A National Park Service ranger cited militia leader Chris Simcox Sunday for carrying a loaded weapon and operating without a permit at Coronado National Memorial in southeastern Arizona.

The chief ranger at the park south of Sierra Vista, Thane Weigand, said it appeared Simcox and William Dore were conducting a patrol of the border. "They were doing a special activity inside the park that's not sanctioned by the park," Weigand said.

Simcox, founder of the Tombstone group Civil Homeland Defense, has been conducting citizen patrols of the border area, but he said that's not what he was doing Sunday afternoon. He said he was simply hiking with Dore.

They were driving along Border Road when they came to a fence with a sign that said no vehicles were permitted, Simcox said. So they parked the van and walked past the fence along the road, not knowing the fence was the park boundary, Simcox said.

"Next thing I know, there's somebody waiting in the bushes for us," Simcox said.

It was a park ranger, who said she had been watching the pair, knew who they were and what they were up to, Simcox said. He and Dore were detained for about 3 1/2 hours, and some belongings were seized, Simcox said. Those belongings included a scanner, two two-way radios, his camera, a cell phone and his pistol.

Weigand said the charges against Simcox and Dore are misdemeanors.

Dead Corpse says:   "This is Mr. Robinsons website. If what I am posting is so onerous, then I will respect his wishes."

Now do you get it?
--Boot Hill

The real question being, why did he get 'it' two hours after he last posted here? - Can we assume, because his posts here were not pulled, that it was not anything he said here?

So what do you know about his suspension bootie?
--- Or are you just back here gloating?

There's a number of folks here who believe our govt can do no wrong. They argue this belief for the most part quoting unconstitutional law.

For example, it is illegal to shoot and kill an unarmed women holding a baby standing at her front door. It is illegal to massacre infants and children in a church. Or is it legal if you are a federal officer?

If you guessed it's "legal" for a federal officer to shoot and kill a mother holding a child in a doorway you are correct.

If you guessed it is "legal" for federal officers to bomb and bulldoze a church filled with infants and children then again you are correct.

Federal officers are protected by the supremacy clause when they are acting "in the line of duty." You can't touch them. They have a license to kill.

And who would that be? And does this have any bearing on the thread topic?

Sorta odd how you draw folks out and then get them sent to "boothill." No doubt you have JR's ear.

But if matters of grave injustices and the solutions can't be discussed here, then where? What's the fear here? Our govt? Our govt will shut us down? Our govt will silence us?

If we can't speak freely then what's the point? What's the point of all this? One must censure his thought or get sent to "boothill?"

I don't think even Marshal Dillion would approve of this kind of censureship nullifying freedom of speech.

Meantime, I'm headed for the Red Dog Saloon to see if I can't sort all this out.

Whatever.

You can't answer my questions? Fine.
-- When and if you ever do so, I will again respect your screen name as I did when you first started here.
You gained your disrespect rapidly, if memory serves, from a lot of different people & factions. -- Enjoy.

tpaine asks:   "The real question being, why did he get 'it' two hours after he last posted here? - Can we assume, because his posts here were not pulled, that it was not anything he said here?"

You are incorrect, his offending post on this thread, where he advocated a violent felony be committed against a national park ranger, was deleted by the moderators. But he still didn't get the message, so he proceeded to post more threats of violence against the government on another thread, it was pulled too. For screwing up so badly, twice in one day, he was told to go to stand in the corner for a couple of days.

A number of posters here, yourself included, don't seem to get what the uproar about Dead Corpse's post and his suspension are really all about. This is not about whether we condemn the park ranger for her outrageous conduct. I know I certainly do, and without reservation. And this is not about what we think about the laws that were used to effect the arrest. I condemn those laws as being an entirely unconstitutional usurpation of the 2nd Amendment. Nor is Dead Corpse's suspension about someone innocently trying to express his opinion and advocate some sort of solution to the problem. And this is also not about some arbitrary rule dreamed up by Jim Robinson so he can force his opinions down our throat.

It's about maintaining op-sec. It's about not drawing unnecessary fire. It's about "when you disclose, you foreclose". And that is precisely what Dead Corpse did when he posted his violent threats against the government.

A person has to be living in a dream world to suppose that this site is not actively monitored by agents of the federal government. Jim Robinson has even admitted as much. And when those agents happen upon Dead Corpse's post that plainly called for the commission of a violent felony against a federal officer, what do you think they are going to do? Do you think they are going to just sit idly by and say: "LOL, will you look what those little dickens are up to now"? And when they do react, it will hardly matters what kind of spin you or others try to place on the threats he made. What matters is what those agents think those words meant. Bottom line is simple, at minimum, he can expect to be placed on a terrorist "watch list" faster than you can say "son of a gun".

Worse than that, when posters like Dead Corpse screw the pooch this bad, it unleashes federal and state heat and scrutiny upon all of us, Jim Robinson, you, me and every other member of the FR family. If you or others have made plans that call for that kind of violent action, you best learn to keep your mouth shut about it. But even if you lack the common sense or maturity to do that, then you ought to at least have the common decency not to involve others in your crap without prior notice and invitation. And that kind of notice is specifically disallowed here on FR.

I still can't make up my mind whether what Dead Corpse did was the result of just terminal stupidity on his part or whether he was acting at the behest of some federal agency and trolling for idiots stupid enough to agree with him. Either way, it doesn't matter, I don't want to be associated in any way with a person to damn stupid to know when to keep his mouth zipped. (Or his apologists.)

What can I say I agree totally with your comments on what is acceptable and what is unacceptable. Many a time I have carefully read a post I was almost going to make and decided against posting it. You clearly went a little farther than I would have in discussing the operational security issues regarding Dead_Corpse than I would have but that is your choice I would simply have stated that to involve Free Republic in the advocacy of violence is to endanger this site.

If one really feels constrained by the rules then one may state that fact rather than breaking the rules.

Sorry, but I totally lost interest in this thread when it became impossible to sort out who said what to whom, with quotes and paraphrases and third party references turned around as first person indictments. It just became impossible to tell who was actually sayint what, or quoting another, or inferring something. Don't bother responding, it's not worth the time to unravel this pot of day old cold spaghetti.

See you soon on another thread that I can figure out.

I searched diligently for your allegations and came up short. Maybe it's time you bring forth your evidence?

If you have already my apologies since I missed it and could not locate it. So please for the benefit of we "dummies" here, repost your evidence. You know, just so it is clear and concise.

In your offer 296 as "more" you yourself "quote" deadcorpse. I don't know if this is in context or what the heck is going on.

Nonetheless, since we are here, now, take me to the "yes," that I may purview for context, and then take me to the "more" as you have proferred. You know, so we are clear and concise.

Stay in Kalifornia. You and the State deserve each other.

Huh?

I know you didn't post this to me, but remember, there are just about two kinds of people left here, the stupid ass, leftist socialist screw worms, people like Grey Davis, and Boxer, who are both from the east coast, New York, and their moronic followers, and those of us that don't scare easily nor run from a fight, and there are still millions of us here in California, many I might add, stand more than a few paces to the right of Reagan and Bush.

Those that would run instead of fighting for the crown jewel of this great country, to flee to some frozen, icy, rainy berg, couldn't be counted on anyway. You can't run from trouble, but I wish them luck.

Remember brother, this country wasn't built by those that ran and fled when things got tough or didn't go their way. It was built on blood and guts, those who were not afraid to speak out and stand their f-ing ground. That's me, and a few million of my California brothers. If I run anywhere, it will be towards that fight, and it seems to me, without leaving our shores, I'm in the right place and have no plans on leaving or giving up my ground.

OK, so speak your mind. Be a brave hero of the revolution, just like Dead Corpse. Go ahead and post your explicit threats to commit a violent felony with a firearm against a federal officer. No one can tell you to shut the hell up, not when you've got the 1st Amendment on your side. That's the spirit.

I think you got me wrong. I don't have a clue what you are talking about.

Go ahead and post your explicit threats to commit a violent felony with a firearm against a federal officer.

I am totally pro law enforcement. Can you show me where I made a threat with a firearm against a federal officer?

I was talking about his comment about California. What the sam hill are you talking about?

One of the problems of the internet is the quasi-anonymity it appears to offer and so easily emboldens cyber-patriots. It also has a magic way of removing 40 pounds, 30 years, adding five inches in height and improving muscle tone by 200%.

And some of the screen names remind me of an old Gary Larson cartoon, what pet's call themselves. It shows a dog introducing itself as Krom, slayer of all I see...or something like that. The FR version is to name yourself after some weapons system or a long dead founding patriot.
