THE MYTH BEHIND HILLARY CLINTONS HOMELAND INSECURITY
Had She And Fellow Democrats Not Stalled Legislation For Government Employee Unions, The Department Of Homeland Security Would Have Been Up And Running Months Earlier
We Have Relied On A Myth Of Homeland Security - A Myth Written In Rhetoric, Inadequate Resources And A New Bureaucracy Instead Of Relying On Good, Old-Fashioned American Ingenuity, Might And Muscle. (Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton [D-NY] As Quoted In Hillary Faults Bush On Security, Newsday [New York, NY], January 25, 2003)
________________________________________________________________________________________
The Republican-Controlled House Quickly Passed Legislation Creating A Department Of Homeland Security In July 2002 Introduced In The House On June 24, 2002, The Homeland Security Act Of 2002 Passed Overwhelmingly Only 32 Days Later. (H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #367: Passed 295-132: R 207-10; D 88-120; I 0-2, July 26, 2002)
But Senate Democrats, Including Hillary Clinton, Stalled The Legislation By Demanding Privileges For Government Employee Unions Senate Democrats [Including Senator Hillary Clinton] Rallied With More Than 100 [Government Employee] Union Workers . . . To Demand Full Union Benefits And Privileges For Employees Of The Proposed New Department Of Homeland Security. (Jeff Johnson, Democrats Rally To Protect Unions At New Security Dept., CNSNews.com, September 5, 2002)
Hillary Clinton Said The Bush Administration Was Trying To Undermine And Eliminate The Rights Of Federal Workers. (Douglas Turner, Quinn Takes On A Key Role, The Buffalo News, August 11, 2002)
Clinton Voted At Least Four Times In Support Of The Government Employee Union-Backed Democrats Substitute To The Homeland Security Bill That Would Have Limited The Presidents Flexibility To Manage Homeland Security. (S.A. 4471 To H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #218: Cloture Motion Rejected 50-49, With Clinton Voting Yes: R 0-48; D 49-1; I 1-0, September 19, 2002; S.A. 4471 To H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #225: Cloture Motion Rejected 49-49, With Clinton Voting Yes: R 1-47; D 47-2; I 1-0, September 25, 2002; S.A. 4471 To H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #226: Cloture Motion Rejected 50-49, With Clinton Voting Yes: R 1-48; D 48-1; I 1-0, September 26, 2002; S.A. 4471 To H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #241: Motion To Table Agreed To 50-47, With Clinton Voting No: R 48-0; D 1-46; I 1-1, November 13, 2002)
Hillary Clinton Has Received Over $350,000 In Contributions From Government Employee Unions. (Campaign Finance Analysis Project Website, www.campaignfinanceanalysisproject.com, Accessed January 27, 2003)
Were It Not For The Democrat-Controlled Senates Stalling, The Department Of Homeland Security Could Have Been Up And Running Almost Four Months Earlier
If The Democrat-Controlled Senate Had Acted With The Same Speed As The Republican-Controlled House, The Department Of Homeland Security Could Have Been Up And Running Months Earlier. The Senate took 112 days to agree to the House-passed Homeland Security legislation with its own amendments. The House took just three days to agree to the Senate-passed version. (H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #367: Passed 295-132: R 207-10; D 88-120; I 0-2, July 26, 2002; H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #249: Passed 90-9: R 48-0; D 41-8; I 1-1, November 19, 2002; H.R. 5005, House Agreed To Senate Amendments By Unanimous Consent, November 22, 2002)
In The End, Senator Clinton Voted For The Department Of Homeland Security. (H.R. 5005, Roll Call Vote #249: Passed 90-9: R 48-0; D 41-8; I 1-1, November 19, 2002)
And Now Hillary Claims Were Unprepared?
The Truth Is We Are Not Prepared . . . And Our Approach To Securing Our Nation Is Haphazard At Best . . . . (Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton As Quoted In Hillary Faults Bush On Security, Newsday [New York, NY], January 25, 2003)

I keep wondering why the news media doesn't call the DNC on this.
Moreover, I wonder if the Prez won't bring this point up in the SOTU. Somehow, I doubt it.
He could use their consistent delay and tricks and lies and negative spin though as being somewhat anti-cooperative.
Now that would be nice.

Great feeling isn't it!
Been waiting a long time to have the RNC and Republicans take off the gloves. It started in the 2002 election when the RNC Research Group finally went public and now they are getting stronger.

I was right! When she said that the other day, I KNEW that the bill for that money was laying on Tom Daschle's desk when he handed that gavel over to Bill Frist!

Words cannot describe how much I loathe Queen of The Damned. Her harsh, lecturing screeds are unbearable to listen to ( & would be even if I agreed with her ideas).
I hope the RNC continues to call this lying b*tch on the carpet when she makes speeches like the one she just made.
She is NOT invincible---she is unlikable, opportunistic, and fundamentally dishonest. She needs to be taken to task every time she opens that hideous, lying mouth of hers.

I couldn't have said it better myself. I live in NYC and cannot understand, for the life of me, how she became Senator. The Repubs have to stop shooting themselves in the foot when it comes to mounting candidates. I'm sorry Rudy had to drop out. I think he would make a fine Senator.
