"Compartmentalize"? She hung out with the clintons too long ... isn't that one of his favorite tactics?

Sorry, Martha ... you picked the wrong compartment!

...I do know if I do business with someone and they pull some BS on me out of their greed or shoddy work performance; then that contractor ,if I find out about it or it breaks down in the middle of the night..I will call anytime night or day! You inconvenience me and I sure in **** will inconvenience you.

I will agree she is her own worst PR and should have remained quiet. But her company will rebound. Women ask to be treated like men in the workplace..but if they speak out are considered a Bitch...when was the last time you heard a man speaking out in business and he is called nothing more the "passionate", "dedicated" and "powerful". I am surprised more women liberal or conservative don't stand up for her.A crime is definitely a crime and should be punished, but "Inquirer" reporting is another thing entirely. Just my opinion.

My family will not buy anything with her name on it.
The most compelling reason is that I will not have my dollars replacing money that she used to support the Clintons.

Mrs. Stewart: You are the person who tried to save $250K by breaking the rules. You took a calculated risk, and you lost. Quit whining.

As the saying would have it, "Penny wise, pound foolish."

Boo-Hoo, Boo-Hoo, Sob, Sniffle, Snort!

Stop it, Martha. You are breaking my heart! I feel for you but, somehow, I can't quite reach you.

Martha sold out her stockholders too. How much money did they lose? How many poor schmucks put their life savings into your company and lost it all ?

Good point... Notice that Martha doesn't give a second thought to her own shareholders... She's still worth tens of millions, but we should all pity her for this massive collapse in value brought on by her stepping over the legal limits line. Typical of Clinton-fans.

Well, well, well, Ms. Martha; where are those wonderful Democrats to who you give so much money (none to Republicans)? I even read that the righteous Miss Hillary has distanced herself from your claims of have received a phone call of "support."

I imagine that you consider yourself a feminist role-model. However, I imagine that most of the people who are taking such pleasure in your self-made predicament are those same people.

Try a billion..maybe down in the hundred millions now stock wise but real estate is "way up" in the Northeast so I think she forgot to count the profit on real estate holdings

That 400 million will double in the next few years. Market goes up..comes down..will go back up again.

Curious that the Feds went after her so heavily and the Enron and Global Crossing CEOs don't seem to be in much trouble yet. Will they ever be? What about the crooked leaders at Arthur Anderson? Inquiring minds want to know...

You know the answer to that one. The government was looking for an innocuous target. Someone they could use to make an example of. You can go after anybody working on the street, but that would get you into a web of transactions that would end up pulling the foundations out from under most of the "free market". Martha on the other hand clearly did one thing wrong. She is a simple and safe target to go after.
