"Al Sharpton and Washington, D.C., gave the Democratic Party real headaches this week," John Fund writes at www.OpinionJournal.com.

"Mr. Sharpton, the demagogic New York minister, filed his papers as a presidential candidate and then shared equal billing at a dinner celebrating the 30th anniversary of Roe v. Wade. The other five Democratic candidates tiptoed around him in their remarks as if they were navigating a minefield. No one wants to be accused of giving Mr. Sharpton an excuse to say he was 'dissed,'" Mr. Fund observed.

THe back of that DNC bus is getting pretty crowded. Maynard Jackson, Harold Ford, Carl McCall, William J. Jefferson, Charlie Rangel and now Al.

"Hey, Hey, DNC....show us your diversity."
In leadership that is.

Why would the RAT Party want a black to attain real power? They've seen how blacks who run once-vibrant major cities have virtually destroyed them. RATS may be crazy but they're not stupid.

Patty Murray excepted.

Liberal blacks yes... conservative blacks I do not believe would have the same chilling effects on quality of life.

The District of Columbia's stakes are small potatoes and everyone knows it. If they did move up their primary, the white candidates would be able to do token campaigning (no, the pun is not lost on me but I won't dwell on it either) amd just brush off the results.

As for Sharpton and the Abortion Pep rally in New York, I'd really like to know what he means by the "right Christians" as opposed to the Christian right? Does anybody have the guts to ask? Is it anything like John Edwards' statement that tax cuts should go to the "right people"?

How does Sharpton divine who the "right Christians" are or how does Edwards differntiate who are the "right people" to deserve a tax cut? I wish somebody in the lamestream media would ask them.

If they don't, maybe Frist should say that only the "right people" deserve student loans or unemployment checks and then watch the media have a cow.

Thank you for correcting me. I should've made it clearer that I was talking about blacks within the RAT Party.

Thomas Sowell, Walter Williams, Clarence Thomas, Star Parker, et al would make great leaders and would return those same once-vibrant cities to their former glory.

To anyone whom I might have offended by my comments, I'd like to take that one step further.

It is my contention that Liberal ideas and RAT politicians have done more to damage blacks than anything the KKK or Trent Lott could've dreamt up.

I'll bet Sharpie is gettin' pretty tired of waiting for the DNC to quit screwin' around and write him the check.

I don't remember exactly when it was Jesse usually got his "Go Home Money" in every campaign.

Can't wait for Sharpie tomorrow on "Meet the Cuomo Aide". Should be a laugh riot.

Thanks for the clarification. In reality the issue is the DNC ideologue policies which have brought once-vibrant American cities to urban wastelands.

I'm pretty sure you meant to direct that towards me rather than Tall Texan. But you're welcome just the same.

Renee: Abortion has now succeeded in killing more black people than US southern slavery (for those race pimps who hate the south) and the KKK ever did. let's also figure in safe sex school programs, promiscuity promoted by liberal blacks, etc.

Is it any coincidence that R.Kelly is STILL being played on rap radio stations? Right here where i live i see the liberal black politics run amok in the schools while our taxes rocket to the top (HIGHEST IN THE COUNTRY- ALMOST THERE!).

BTW, you were correct to point out what happens when a lot of black people are elected to pubic office. You can get the man out of the ghetto, but you can't get the ghetto outof the man. These people never had it so good. Let a little power go to their heads, they go beserk.

Now imagine someone like Clarence Thomas for instance running the show... grew up in the segregated south, but his mother worked two jobs to send him to a private catholic school run by white nuns who beat education into him. Nope the democrats would NEVER elect a black man with a brain because they can't crack that whip! We don't need any smart assed negroes in our party!

Reverend Al is the Rats' absolute worst nightmare - he has the potential to make them pine for the days when it was only Ralph Nader who was screwing things up for them. The deliciously ironic thing is, it was the Rats' themselves who have let Al get a really good grip on a certain vulnerable part of their anatomy.

In their all-out rush to villify Trent Lott over his remarks at Strom Thurmond's birthday party and to paint the GOP as a bunch of racists, the Rats basically wrote off the South. All their dark rantings about the GOP's racist "Southern strategy" and their not-so-subtle tarring of all white Southerners as illiterate white-hooded rubes with more guns than teeth will not be quickly forgotten down here. The only way they can win without the South is to get HUGE turnout among black voters, and they have telegraphed their intention to try and go that route.

To make things worse for their "Southern strategy", their candidate for governor of Florida bombed miserably. This was a huge loss for them, one that many in the media have "misunderestimated." Florida is the 800-pound gorilla in the South, and it is the only Southern state where they have a reasonable shot at winning (thanks to South Florida). Needless to say, having the governorship of Florida in the GOP's hands makes it a lot more difficult for the Rats to get some insurance by means of "creative" vote counting and/or mobilization.

The upshot of all this is that Sharpton's got the Rats right where he wants them - they need blacks to turn out in droves to vote, more so than ever before, and Al can take lots of them away from them. He may well be looking for nothing more than "Go Home Money", but I think he's going to give the Rats a couple of friendly little squeezes first, to remind them exactly why his price is so high.

The Democrats are in favor of affirmative action, or so they claim. If they really are, then those White Dems in the Presidential race had better step aside and let Big Al Sharpton have the nomination. If any of them don't quit and throw their support behind Sharpton, they are Racists and Biggots and the spotlight of the media must be show them for what they are. They are probably having KKK meetings with their grand wizard Robert Byrd.
