I was flipping the radio dial changing channels and almost fell out of my chair when I heard this!
So is this the kiss of death for their credibility with their 'seal of approval?'

Next month their "reliable source" will be Nina's friend's uncle's brother-in-law who once worked with a guy who was in a prison cell with someone who claimed to have been a room mate with one of Saddam's body guards at summer camp.

Here are Debka's current headlines. Which are not credible? None of those...I did find the news about chinese divisions massing in Jordan a bit rich.
To: mhking
from wired.com:
That slant, combined with Debkafile's breakneck pace -- its eight-person staff updates the site as often as 5 or 6 times per day with terse, one-line tips and sparse news briefs -- means it often airs unfounded, inaccurate rumors while breaking legitimate news.
Well...that would make its level of accuracy near Drudges, no? Maybe even better since Matt seems to be cowtowing to the hollywood elites with all his movie/music/actors news.
If we quit listening to those idiots, they'll go back to being nothing celluloid figments of an imagination.

Even worse, Debka probably thinks PBS is a credible source.

90% of those headlines AREN'T "DEBKA" stories; they're just ripped from breaking wire service stories.
It's the DEBKA original stuff, their "exclusive interviews" etc. that is BS.
As a rule, if you see something at DEBKA and no where else, it's crap.
DEBKA mixes in actual news they rip off from legitimate sources, that is true, with their fabricated crap to cause the not-so-bright to say "See! This is on DEBKA's site and it's true! So everything at DEKBA is true!"

I thought the Chinese divisions were massing in Panama, per World Net Daily? Surprised they have any troops left over after putting those 600,000 troops in the Sudan :-)

Can't recall dates- 18+ months ago? Before 911? For a while people were posting outlandish stuff from DEBKA as a joke-at the time it was equivalent to Rense.com. Haven't seen any of their recent stuff.
To: tallhappy
Not sure about the Chinese forces in Jordan one. How about Chinese forces in
Afghanistan?

Your comments are well taken and, to my mind, obvious.
Still, it is an exageration and seems to be too emotionally based.
It's the DEBKA original stuff, their "exclusive interviews" etc. that is BS.
Not always. And, no matter what, they are interesting (although, I don't read them all. I am referring to things I've read).
As a rule, if you see something at DEBKA and no where else, it's crap.
This is not always born out. Often Debka is first and that's why it's not anywhere else. Often I'm tempted to begin a vanity post like this one saying -- "look, Debka was right".
The emotional nature of the anti-Debka gang is too much. It's irrational. I think there are other issues involved in their visceral reactions and irrational observations than just inaccuracy.

Debka seems quite credible to me. However, they have a 100% pro-Israel bias. If that means they aren't credible, then I guess Fox News isn't credible because they are 100% pro-America.
