Rep. Gephardt May Apologize for Pro-Life Stance Tonight
ABC Political Unit-Exclusive ^ | January 21, 2003 | Marc Ambinder

Posted on 01/21/2003 9:00:47 AM PST by ewing

ABC News will have a new poll at 6:30 PM EST tonight testing the tax cut, the war, and a horse race of the current 2004 Presdiential field.

On the Presidential level, still picking apart the results of the past weekends results in Iowa, all six Dem Cadidates will speak tonight at the Pro-Choice America's Dinner at the Omni Shoreham hotel. Receptions start at 6PM, events begin at 7.

Division of pro choice activists is key right up there with labor and African Americans. The echo-chamber effect for anyone who does well tonight or poorly will be huge.

Watch on C-SPAN how the candiates use their 4 minute speaking time to maximum effect. Watch to see if the time limit is strictly enforced. Watch to see who tries to make news, and how hard they go after the President. Watch to see who brings and/or makes reference to their spouse.

Dick Gephardt is the only one about whom there is some pre event buzz that he plans to make news.

Most of the speculation has centered on the possibility that he 'will apologize' for his previously pro-life position, but Time Magazine's Joseph Klein zings 'at the Pro-choice cattle show, the only profile in courage will be Gephardt's refusal to endorse late term abortions.'

I suppose they'll serve Chinese fetus soup, too, to celebrate the moment.

Gebhardt did not have my respect before--not in the slightest--since he pandered to the militant Homosexual movement, a couple of years ago. Lately, when he called for the removal of the Confederate flag, not only from State grounds in South Carolina, but from display anywhere in America, I concluded that he really was something of a crypto-Nazi--even the Communists, who were usually far worse suppressers, didn't usually suppress any display of the symbols of a people's heritage, except those which were seen as a direct challenge to their theories.

That Gepbhardt will apparently say anything, and cater to any fanatic group, which he believes may serve his purpose, demonstrates a very dangerous and ruthless mentality. We are not dealing with a naive "Liberal," here. If he had an Ernst Rohm to break up our meetings, we would be in a physical fight for our very lives. (Perhaps that was what he was really doing at that Homosexual militant convention--looking for the right thug.)

hey Dick! You remind me of another dem who cant decide what they stand for, you may even see him tonight. When you do ask Lieberman how he managed to get away without a spine when he ran with Gore. Maybe he can give you some pointers

I don't know the answers to your questions.

We can only hope that ABCNNBCBS have to give all of these losers equal free time for most of this year.

That will put even more of a financial strain on ABCNNBCBS as they will lose more ad money during these boring hours of losing libs on tv.

A massive tv glut of these losers will drive away more moderates as these losers mouth their insane mantras.

I think that GW saw all of this coming when he let the bill become law.

The legality of abortion could explain why the shift to conservatism in this country.

As liberal babies are eliminated eventually only conservatives will have children.

...In further news, 'Pro-Choice America's Dinner' staff has declared their intention to sacrifice a small child to open the ceremonies.

One PAD organizer was quoted as saying, "Don't worry, it's only a little Cuban kid, and we have received assurances from Castro that his father will be highly rewarded with a seat in the parliament.".
