Yes, this bandwith is justified because of the following..

Ritter is on his way to Baghdad ((to see Saddam?)), but will be in New York City tomorrow to shoot an anti war message.

Ritter of Arabia: A former weapons inspector becomes Saddam's chief apologist.

 

Over the past two years, Al-Khafaji, an Iraqi-America Mr. Ritter has taken $400,000 from Shakirn businessman with ties to Saddam, to produce a documentary called, "In Shifting Sands." Mr. Ritter concedes that Mr. Al-Khafaji is "openly sympathetic with the regime in Baghdad." And that may be an understatement.

 

Mr. Al-Khafaji runs propaganda sessions for Saddam. Euphemistically known as "expatriate conferences," the biannual gatherings decry the "terrorism and genocide" the U.S. commits against the Iraqi people through U.N. sanctions.

Mr. Ritter claims Mr. Al-Khafaji had no editorial input on the film project, a claim he undermines by openly admitting that his benefactor is responsible for arranging Mr. Ritter's interviews with high-ranking Iraqi government officials, including chief propagandist, Tariq Aziz.

 

Even before his project was completed, Mr. Ritter predicted at a press conference that "the U.S. will definitely not like this film." These contacts no doubt helped Mr. Ritter earlier this month, when he returned to Baghdad and became the first American to speak before the Iraqi National Assembly.

I have been wondering about the timing of the news breaking. Ol' Scott has been doing his "anti-war" thing all over the place lately. Not to mention the little "gatherings" that were held this past the weekend. And, of course, now he's on the road to Baghdad...

My guess is that someone who knew the story, possibly one of the cops, got tired of seeing Ritter badmouthing the US on chanel after chanel. The story is still not being widely broadcast though. I think Fox was the only cable network that carried it today. For some reason, Drudge is not carrying it.

I got a laugh at how they are actually trying to defend Scott Ritter and blaming his problems on a Free Republic smear campaign. What dolts.

Well, they defended Clintoon also, so I guess they are being consistent. Since they are monitoring this thread, I invite any Democrat to visit my FR page, and see why I became a Republican.

I try not to got there more than about once a month. I wouldn't have seen the info about Pitt and CNN if a FReeper hadn't made me aware of it.

Sometimes a good police officer who has been gagged by the DA's and his chief, retires.

After he/she gets their first couple of pay checks, they have coffee with a good reporter and steer them in the right direction.

Or that retired cop tells the DA that he has 24 to 48 hours blow the cover before he goes to the Federal Attorney General's offfice.

If a grand jury is meeting, a few words from a retired cop can really light a fire under a DA, Mayor and Police helping a liberal buddy like Predator Ritter!
