Massachusetts Religion. I think the other one was outlawed by the Salem Witch Hunters Society.

Most prosecutor's offices have policies regarding what an assistant prosecutor can or cannot do without clearing from higher ups. My guess is this ADA broke the department rules by entering into this type of plea arrangement and then hid it from the boss.I understand that.
So then the question becomes, if this was the policy, just what was "in it for her" that she risked her job?

More than likely he agreed to plead guilty in exchange for the record being sealed.

So then the question becomes, if this was the policy, just what was "in it for her" that she risked her job? From another thread:"Both reports say that Ritter later struck a deal with Assistant District Attorney Cynthia Preiser that allowed the case to be dismissed and the records sealed."
My comment was; "Maybe a deal she couldn't refuse." ;-)
Some women are so gullible.

...that is not grounds for even an educated guess as to his guilt or innocence in this case....Right. And Ritter must have known this was going to come out, at the optimum time to suit his enemies.
This whole Ritter affair is anomaly piled upon anomaly, but some of our Freeper colleagues are so blinded by their hatred of him they're not even aware of being manipulated.

..more than likely he agreed to plead guilty in exchange for the record being sealed...I meant, 'what was the charge'?
If it was anonymously talking dirty on the Internet, half the people posting on this thread should be busted.

To: Burkeman1
yes- she was- after the story came to light and her boss- a man with ambition- fired her.
I think you're missing the point. As a government employee, she was required to at least present the so-called "deal" she had made to her superior for his approval or disapproval. She over-stepped her authority, failed to provide any information to her boss at the time it happened, and basically made a deal behind his back. If you think he fired her because he was on a power trip, you're sorely wrong. How effective a DA's office would he have if he allowed this kind of behavior to go unchecked?
