WASHINGTON, Jan. 18 (UPI) -- Dozens of counter-demonstrators armed with U.S. flags showed up to the Washington anti-war protest Saturday to express their support for Bush's policy on Iraq.
Braving the below freezing temperatures, members of FreeRepublic.com, a conservative online group, and others not affiliated with formal organizations took over a block of sidewalk along the march route across from the Marine Barracks.

Fairly accurate and decent article.

Dittos -- this is a fairly accurate and decent article. How many other protest groups get cordoned off by the police line as the marchers go by and have their very own sub shop for warm-ups, hot coffee and bathroom stops.
Kudos to the proprietor/manager of the sub shop. We appreciated the good food, congenial atmosphere, and warmth that helped keep us going after we were moved from the sunny side of the street to the colder, shaded side.

Thank you Boston lady. That Tacitus blog is an AWESOME summary! I've saved it and will print it out as soon as I fix my printer. The pics will make most excellent posters the next time we get infested.

"Yesterday's antiwar protests were organized by International ANSWER, a virtual front organization for the Worker's World Party. The WWP, in case you didn't know, split from the old Socialist Workers Party over the 1956 Soviet invasion of Hungary. No, not to oppose it -- the WWP supported the invasion, and they've been staunch defenders of every manner of atrocity and horror in the name of socialism since. "There's no moral difference between their murderous ideology and that of, say, the American Nazi Party. Both romanticize evil. Both condone tyranny." Thanks fer sharing yer link...MUD
