C-Span Not Only Doesn't Air Patriots' Rally in DC, But Provides Direct Link To A.N.S.W.E.R Website.

Posted on 01/18/2003 9:25:55 AM PST by ctnoell70

Not only is C-Span providing only one side of the debate on the looming war against Iraq, but it may be promoting the anti-war argument. Listed on the C-Span website (homepage) is a direct link to the website of A.N.S.W.E.R., the organizers of the anti-American rally in D.C. today. No link or mention was provided for Free Republic, the Patriot's Rally counter-protest, or any other opposition. I know this may be a "vanity", but all Freepers have a right to know this. I am getting ready to send C-Span a nasty email and challenge all other Freepers to do likewise. Let's roll!

C-Span slips further to the left with each passing day. Its obvious by how they frame their questions, who the guests are and as today and on past occasions how their coverage of various events is done.

Nah, you've got to watch the C-SPAN coverage, it is the funniest thing I've ever seen. What they appear to have done is to recruit as speakers everyone who has ever had a complaint about the U.S. and Washington. There was just a Philippino woman who criticized every president in the U.S. since Marcos. When they showed the little audience, some seemed confused, apparantly because they felt the rally should all be anti-Bush.

All the usual suspects are there, all ranting about a particular idiocy. I think my group leader will deliver his speech about opposition to florides in the water.

Most have tacked on a comment about Iraq, but the speakers I've seen all had an agenda that wasn't Iraq. It is cold and they claim that folks are coming still, so maybe the big kahunas come later (although Ramsey Clark and Presidential Candidate Al Sharpton have already spoken). Oh, McKinney was there, looking fine and fat, babbling about some of the usual lefty subjects. I know I won't really be motivated 'til I hear from Shawn Penn, Ed Asner, Alvin Bladwin, or all of the same other weasels.

Watch it if you can. It is a funny show, at least so far.

I don't know the answer to your question about public fundting, but I'm thinking that maybe the Speaker of the House might think about changing access rules to chamber video and charging a "per minute fee for use" to defer the cost of maintenance of these resources, since they are used by "for profit" organizations, and advocacy organizations.

CSPAN has left the room in regards to being unbiased in their selection of coverage.

This is hilarious!! As you watch it, think of "Saturday Night Live" using black actors to speak the same words. Blacks would go balistic claiming racial stereotyping to make them look foolish. Jesse came and went.

The only thing that could change the complection here is that they seem to being thinking about marching to the DC Navy to do a citizens search for weapons of mass destruction. They won't be allowed to do that. There will be an interesting contrast, however.

There will be the terrorist protestors who trashed downtown Seattle and are using King Day to mask thier planned violence and destruction and the actual King advocates, the ones who talk about peace. There are the usual anti-American, hate the wealthy and destroy their property kooks and, probably, Hollywood elitists who have parked their limos out of sight. There are probably some blacks who actually believe they are King followers. It could get very nasty when they all (well, not the Hollywood elitists) try to rush the Navy Yard.

C-Span is funded by your cable payments. Cable providers give them a slice of the pie each and every month, by law. And yes they are about as even handed as a suicide bomber.

You mean like Gen. Jack D. Ripper in Dr. Stangelove?

Actually, C-SPAN is providing a service by doing this, so we can see the left-wing, Stalinist, communist, socialist, and/or anti-US organizations and individuals behind this Anti-US demonstration.

Take a look here.

Beware.

Sad! When I first started watching C-SPAN years ago, it was balanced. For every one from the Dark Side, they had somebody telling the truth to balance out the lies. Now there's no longer any balance, and in fact, it's a rarity when a good guy is ever on. I don't even both watching any more. They sealed their fate when they switched the caller lines to Pubbies and Dummies. Notice they always list the Dummies first too. I used to respect Brian, but no more.

Now just what differance does it make how c-span lists their lines. That is about as dumb headed as the demo's. It doesn't matter how they list their line since the demo's got their talking points operation running with the unions. It's always the same ten are twenty demo callers, and they alway's lie about when they called last. Are they start the old hum-job story that they are pubbies but since George was selected and so on and so on.

Are you kidding? If you think it doesn't matter in which order things are listed, why do politicians running for office fight to be listed first on ballots? C-SPAN listing the Dims first is another way of catering to the Left. It IS being done deliberately! RE: your second point, the Democrats consistantly lie about who they really are. They call in on all lines, and when using the Republican line, start off with "well I used to be a Republican BUT...and then launch into a vicious rant against Republicans. Not only are the Democrat politicians liars, so are the followers.

When are folks whose political persuasion is right of center going to reconcile themselves to the fact that C-SPAN is a hard-core Leftist mouthpiece. It isn't just that they cover every Leftist event in the greater Washington area, no matter how obscure. Their Washington Journal and other call-in shows skew way to the Left. They bought a District of Columbia radio station a few years ago. It caters to an audience that is largely black and largely Democrat. They acquired an affectation designed to ingratiate themselves with academia (and make a buck in the process). It is to push books and history, then market what they push to schools and institutions of "higher" learning. The only way one gets in tight with academia is to lurch far to the Left. Sure, C-SPAN still does it's original mission, which is to cover the House and Senate. And they neutrally cover political events like debates and rallies for presidential candidates. But just about everything else on C-SPAN is tilts so far to the Left they make Ralph Nader look like a conservative by comparison.

At least the Fox News Channel had the decency to give SOME coverage of the dozens of pro-American counter-protesters who braved the elements and pro-terrorist propaganda in our nation's capital.
