The Washington Post

SEOUL, South Korea – North Korea on Wednesday dismissed the Bush administration's recent offer of a resumption of aid for an abandonment of its nuclear weapons programs, calling the United States' overtures "nothing but a deceptive drama to mislead the world public opinion."

"The U.S. loudmouthed supply of energy and food aid are like a painted cake pie in the sky," North Korea's Foreign Ministry said in a statement distributed by its official Korean Central News Agency.

Reaction in Washington was low-key. Ari Fleischer, the White House spokesman, said: "That's an unfortunate comment that North Korea has made." He added, "This is why Japan and China, South Korea, Russia and the United States view this matter as a serious concern."

As North Korea continues to revive a nuclear reactor capable of producing atomic weapons, the Bush administration has already set aside military force as a potential response, cognizant that a war here would likely devastate South Korea and perhaps Japan, and focused intently on preparations for a looming war in Iraq.

If there's one thing that the North Koreans know about, it's deceptive drama. Too bad no one is listing. Enjoy the sound of silence, Kimmy. We'll cue the crickets in a minute.

Fine, f^&k them. Fire up the nukes and let some B-2's go on a strafe/bombing run about 2-20 miles north of the DMZ.
