NORTH CAROLINA Senator John Edwards says he is seeking the Democratic presidential nomination to champion ''regular folks.''

That phrase, and those interchangeable with it - ''working men and women,'' ''the little guy,'' ''ordinary citizens,'' or, simply, ''the American people'' - are stump speech staples for politicians trying too hard to convince the electorate that they are not in the grubby business of politics.

The asking price for the Georgetown house has been reported at more than $3 million, Briggs said. According to Roll Call, a congressional newspaper, Edwards' net worth is about $13.6 million, making him the 23rd-wealthiest member of Congress. A potential presidential candidate in 2004, Edwards touts how he grew up with humble roots and was the first in his family to go to college. He became a highly successful trial lawyer.

The worst part about Edwards is the fact that his wealth comes from parasitism - he's an ambulance chaser reaping millions without contributing anything to the economy.

This old urban legend still travelling around? What really happened was that GB expressed surprise at how far some NEW technology had come, and he was fully cognizant of how it was to be used. The guys showing it to him were extolling its new abilities.

Edwards is not a credible candidate. He is half way into his first term EVER in public office. Edwards doesn't have the gravitas to run for the big seat.
