I just received an e-mail from Art, Mary Ann's husband (vets_husband_and_wife) with an update on Mary Ann.

Mary Ann needs our prayers!

Here is what Art wrote:

"Hi,

This is Art at the key board. I am sending this out to many of Mary Ann's friends as well as family. Mary Ann has been having some trouble over the last couple of weeks with a resurgence of Diverticulitus and bowel blockages. I arrived home from work yesterday around 5:00 and we ended up in the Emergency room at 8:00. She was admitted after making her comfortable around mid-night. At this point we hope that through IV anti-biotics and pain control everything settles down and she can avoid any surgery. She will be under going numerous unpleasant tests over this weekend and will need lots of rest in between. For those of you that have had the hospital experience, you know that getting rest in a hospital room is next to impossible. Hopefully the pain killers will help her in this. I will up-date you as often as possible. Any prayers you might send her way will be greatly appreciated "Art / Dad"

I have a co-worker in his early 50's who suffers from diverticulitis and it's a bear of a condition. A royal pain (no pun intended).

I hope Mrs. Vets gets to feeling better real soon!

Prayer bump. God grant her the rest she needs in between all these tests. May the tests be of real use in her doctors' decisions. May they find innovative ways to treat her condition without surgery and may they keep a positive attitude toward her case that the family shares and encourages.
