"The average person in the UK is unlikely ever to see a gun. You are more likely to choke to death on your food than be shot," he said. "We are being conned by dishonest politicians. They are using the figures to lie to us to create a sense of panic and then to say that they have done something about it."
He said the problem was not the number of guns available but the willingness of people to use them and he accused the Home Office of attempting to make political capital out of the shootings in Birmingham.
Finally, a former elite policeman speaks out against the lying gun-grabbing politicians. The numbers of gun crimes have increased substantially since the total ban on handguns was enacted, but the number of crimes committed with firearms is lower than in many other developed countries and was even lower before the ban. But that won't stop Blunkett from trying to make a political gain out of this issue.

The British have a gun culture of death. They have wanted people to die for a long time. To all the British
victims of crime, I say, SHAME ON YOU!!! for being part of the circle of violence.
Was that demagogery on the same level as that which has been flung in our direction on this side of the Atlantic? Hee, hee, hee.......I love shoveling it back at them.

"...the real reason for the introduction of the law was that the government was nervous about the possibility of revolution and wanted to control firearms."
I'm always inclined to believe this line of reasoning. Even so, it is pretty easy for the government to 'piggy-back' the gun issue on the very real problem of assualts, home invasions and other violent crime that really is skyrocketing.
Maybe Mad Ivan will chime in with the real dope...

Wonder if any of the people kicked to death would have made good use of a handgun? Or the unfortunates stabbed? Just wondering.
Even back before total registration (1923?) UK gun crime was very low.
Many people predicted an increase in non-gun crime if guns were banned. Maybe the UK press should go interview them now!

"His comments came as Mr Blunkett and senior police officers yesterday approved a firearms amnesty in the latest of a series of new measures to curb the use of guns, prompted by the shooting dead of two teenage girls in Birmingham."
Amnesty for whom? The criminals aren't going to turn in their guns. This is just to further disarm the sheeple.

Handgun crime rises by 46 per cent
Gun crime in England and Wales soared by 35 per cent last year and criminals used handguns in nearly 50 per cent more offences, Home Office figures revealed today.
Firearms were used in 9,974 recorded crimes in the 12 months to last April, up from 7,362. In all, handgun crime rose 46 per cent year-on-year.
The figures also show the number of crimes involving handguns has more than doubled since the post-Dunblane massacre ban on the weapons, from 2,636 in 1997-1998 to 5,871 in the last financial year.

"...the real reason for the introduction of the law was that the government was nervous about the possibility of
revolution and wanted to control firearms." Let me repeat that word "revolution" the has the British government in an uncomfortable squirm. Why would they ever have to worry about the peaceful citizens of the Motherland revolting ? Just what tricks do they have up their sleeves that the Brits are going to have to endure?
I am glad that the NWO is trying our their plans on a small country first. It will give us Yanks a chance to see for ourselves just how well the Plan is going to work for the citizens.

"The average person in the UK is unlikely ever to see a gun. You are more likely to choke to death on your food... But the BBC TV spent the whole day repeating over and over that wearing guns has become a fasion statment amongst the street people...
Is it true that a bold lie, repeated often will hypnotize people?
